Juvenile arrested for threatening school shooting Class 4 felony charges for Disorderly Conduct were approved, juvenile transferred to River Valley Juvenile Center

Plainfield, IL- On Monday, September 9, 2019, prior to 9:00a.m., the Plainfield Police Department was notified of a possible school shooting threat at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield, IL. Plainfield Police investigated the threat which resulted in a juvenile admitting to making statements “as a joke”. Class 4 felony charges for Disorderly Conduct were approved and the juvenile was transferred to the River Valley Juvenile Justice Center to await a custody hearing. The juvenile was not in possession of any weapons at the time of his arrest. There is no evidence of any continuing threat to Plainfield Central High School and classes will continued as scheduled on Tuesday, September 10th, 2019.
