a Joliet Police vehicle and a car collided sunday afternoon on ottawa street. the crash happened around 12 p.m. in the first block of ottawa street near the parking garage between a marked police suv and a green ford focus. sgt. Chris Botzum said the crash was not the result of a police pursuit. the officer and the occupants of the ford required medical attention but their injuries were not considered life-threatening. the street was closed until the vehicles could be towed away.
