Patients without a MyChart account can sign up at https:// mychart.eehealth.org/. A physician order must be placed in advance for all lab tests, including rapid strep tests and COVID-19 tests. After the physician order is placed, all lab tests can be scheduled online, except for COVID-19 tests. COVID-19 tests may be scheduled through MyChart or by calling 630-527-

3200. For those who do not have a doctor’s order for a rapid strep test or COVID-19 test, clinicians are available to see patients in person at the Health Center’s Walk-In Clinic. The Walk-In Clinic accepts most major health insurance plans and has self-pay options.

oBITUaRy TayloR Gerald William “Jerry” Taylor, 83, passed away January 28, 2022 in Yorkville, IL of natural causes. Jerry was born in Plainfield on October 29, 1938, and lived the past 20 years in Sheridan, IL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Ann George Taylor, his parents LeRoy “Roy” and Helen Taylor, and his brother Richard “Rich” Taylor. He lost his father early in life and honorably referred to him as “L.P.” Jerry is survived by his daughter Linda (Carla), his son LeRoy “Roy” (Melissa), and his Grandchildren Jerry and Mallory Taylor and Emma and Ethan Holmes-Taylor. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who have fond memories of “Uncle Jerry.” He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1956 and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1957-1962. Following boot camp,

he opened Taylor’s Mobil Service in Plainfield, operating that business until 1976, then was the owner of Taylor’s Auto Supply until 1996. He also drove school bus #7 for Plainfield District 202 for 30 years. In 2002 he retired happily with Ann to their log home in the country, which had been their dream. Jerry was a lifetime member of the Plainfield Fire Department and rose to the rank of Assistant Chief in the late 1970’s. He was elected as a Trustee on the Plainfield Village Board in 1971. He was also a member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge, and more recently the Sheridan American Legion. He became a Chicago Bears Season Ticket Holder in 1980, and as he would say, he “hit

it at the right time” when he was able to enjoy the 1985 Championship season watching his favorite player and coach, Mike Ditka. He and Ann took many trips around the United States and Mexico both alone and with lifelong friends during their retirement. He loved the relaxed pace of train travel, especially through the Rocky Mountains. When not traveling, he enjoyed maintaining his one-acre property, listening to the great crooners on his deck, and spending time with family and friends. In his later years, his best friends and companions were the patrons and staff of The Norway Store in Norway, IL, and Chet’s Fox River Tavern in Wedron, IL. He had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs, and couldn’t resist giving them treats whenever they stopped by the house in the country. Those who knew him knew he could be a man of few words, and also knew he had a heart of gold.

Memorial contributions in Jerry’s memory may be made to Plymouth Congregational Church, Plainfield, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Plainfield Township Cemetery. For information please call 815/436-9221 or visit www.overman-jones.com

Bolingbrook store sells $1 million Lotto prize Another Illinois Lotto player became a millionaire overnight - making it the third $1 million Lotto winner in the past two weeks! The winning Lotto ticket was purchased at Stop 24 Liquors, located at 319 Veterans Pkwy. in Bolingbrook, and matched all six Lotto Million 1 numbers in the Thursday, January 27 drawing: 26-29-33-41-44-50. The newly-minted millionaire has yet to come forward and claim their prize but Dashank Desai, co-owner of the liquor store, says he knows who bought the winning ticket. “The customer was in our store this morning when an Illinois Lottery representative informed us that we sold a $1 million winning Lotto ticket,” said Desai. “The customer then called someone on the phone, read out loud the winning Lotto numbers, and then blurted out that they matched all the numbers.” When asked what was the winning reaction from the customer, Desai said “the customer was speechless - I think they were in total shock.” Desai, who co-owns the liquor store with his parents, has sold several winning Lottery tickets over the years but he says “this one was the largest jackpot.” “We’ve been in business at this location for

over 21 years so we are very excited that a regular customer from our own neighborhood won the million dollar prize - it’s extra special when it’s someone you know.” For selling the winning ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000, one percent of the prize amount. Although a majority of the bonus winnings will be put towards the family business, Desai does plan to use a portion of the bonus to do something special with their loyal store employees. Lotto is an Illinois-only game that is played three times a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and the current jackpot is $7.1 million for the next draw, Saturday, January 29. The Illinois Lottery encourages all lucky winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize. They have one year from the date of the winning draw to do so. Winners should visit IllinoisLottery.com/winning to learn how to claim their prizes. For more information or to buy tickets online, please visit illinoislottery.com or download the Illinois Lottery app on your smartphone.
