First-grade reading skills are going to the dogs. Two comfort dogs are visiting students at Troy Heritage Trail elementary school about once a month for this school year. students practice reading skills while the dogs are visiting by reading to them. brutus and nigel recently visited students in melissa lundyÂ’s classroom. lundy said the lutheran church charities Kare-9 military ministry dog program is carried out by veterans. The dogs give comfort, love and support to the young students at the school, she said.
