MONTHLY NEWS, INFORMATION & ENTERTAINMENT FOR GLENFIELD

Charlie’s World Glenfield Gardeners’ Scout Jamboree: Association Annual Show An update ... Schedule is now available HI EVERYONE, I just wanted to give you all an update on how I am getting on with my fundraising so far. I have been working hard for the last 5 months to raise money and so far I am three-quarters of the way there! This has included: •

regular car washes at the Scout Hut. At one of them I was paid in Korean Won (equivalent to around £30!) and got to wash a Tesla!

running a tuck shop every night of the week for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts - they go crazy for Mento’s and Flumps!

arranging a curry night at Chef and Spice alongside a member of the Groby scouts who is also going on the Jamboree. Around 150 people attended - friends, family and even people from my parents’ work came to help raise money. The evening was a great success and with a raffle of prizes which had all been generously donated we raised £1,690 in total! Everyone down at the scouts loves a good curry night so they were happy to help. this Gazette may even have been delivered by me as I deliver monthly in my local area

I also applied for a grant from the council and generously they donated £500 which I am very thankful of. Some people have also given donations for nothing and just given money or prizes to help me on the way to South Korea. Overall I am having fun and enjoying raising the money to get me to South Korea and just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped so far! Be sure to join us at our Craft Fair and Table Top sale at the Scout Hut 2pm-5pm on the 11th June.
