ED. GARLAND RETURNS FROM YOSEMITE TRIP

Ed. Garland, manager of the rail department of the Chas. R. McCormick Lumber Co., San Francisco, has returned from a several days trip to Yosemite where he spent the holidays. Ed. said that he was amazed at the rvonderful scenery in the Yosemite National Park and that there were close to 3000 people in the Park over the holidays. He was accompanied by Mrs. Garland on the trip.

FREDERIC S. PALMER ON EASTERN TRIP

Frederic S. Palmer. the well known San Francisco distributor of California White and Sugar Pine, has left for the east on a month's business trip. He will visit the pine consuming centers in the Mississippi Valley and other eastern states going as far east as Nerv York and Boston.

E. L. REITZ IN NORTH

Mr. E. L. Reitz, of the sales department of the S. C. Hooper Lumber Company, Los Angeles rvholesalers, in enjoying a months trip through the Northrvest, rvhere he is calling on the various mill connections of his company. He will return to Los Angeles about August lst.

Iwalter Fifer Makes Change

Mr. Walter R. Fifer, rvho has been representing the Williams Fir Finish Company in Los Angeles for the past year, has severed his connection rvith that concern, and starting July 1st, rvill be connected rvith the Washington Lumber & Milhvork Company, of Los Angeles.

Mr. Fifer will be in the sales end of the game, assisting Mr. Jas G. Browne, president of the company.

Seattle Lumberman Visits Los Angeles

Mr. H. P. Kennedy, of Lumber Buyers Inc., Seattle, has been spending several days visiting his lumbermen friends, in and around Los Angeles.

R. F. HAMMATT ON VACATION TO DONNER LAKE

R. F. Hammatt, secretary-manager of the California Redrvood Association, San Frincisco, has left on a two weeks' vacation which rvill be spent at Donner Lake in the Sierras. He is accompanied by his family and plans to return about August 1.

A. J. RUSSELL AND GEORGE BURNET"T RETURN - FROM NORTHWEST

A. J. Russell of the Santa Fe Lumber Co., San Francisco, and George Burnett of the Burnett Lumber Co., Tulare, have returned from a two weeks' business trip to the Northwest rvhere they called on their lumbermen friends and looked over business conditions in the Portland and Puget Sound Districts.

J. A. McWATTERS TO REPRESENT HART-WOOD LUMBER CO.

J. A. McWatters, rvell knorvn San Francisco lumberman, is now associated with the Hart-Wood Lumber Co. of San Francisco and rvill cover the Bay District for this well known concern. "Mac" has been actively associated r*'ith the lumber trade of the Bay District and Northern California for the past several years and due to his singing ability is very much in demand at Hoo-Hoo and other lumbermen gatherings. His many friends are wishing him much suCcess rvith his nerv connection.

R. A. HISCOX ON TRIP TO ALASKA

R. A. Hiscox, president of the Western States Lumber Co., San Francisc-o, accompanied by I\lrs. R- A. Hiscox and Miss l\fervil Hiscox, are on a pleasure trip to Alaska. They made short stops at Portland and Seattle prior-to their sailing from Selttle. They rvill return to San Francisco around the later part of the month.
