Forest Supervisors Retire

San Francisco, June 30.-Retirement from active service of two old-time forest supervisors, David N. Rogers, in charge of the Plumas National Forest, Quincy, for over 35 years, and Roy Boothe, Inyo National Forest, Bishop, a member of the Forest Service since 1907, 'ivas announced today by Regional Forester S. B. Show, chief of the U. S. Forest Service in California.

Carl A. Gustafson, supervisor of the Klamath National Forest, Yreka, has been named supervisor of the Plumas Forest, succeeding Mr. Rogers. George S. James, district ranger at Bakersfield, Sequoia National Forest, has been promoted to be supervisor of the Klamath Forest, succeeding Mr. Gustafson. Floyd Iverson, Bieber, ranger, Modoc National Forest, has been promoted to be supervisor of the Inyo National Forest, succeeding Mr. Boothe.

On Trip to Mexico

Roy Stanton, E.J. Stanton & Son, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Stanton, left on July 11 for a trip to Mexico. They will spend a ferv days at Guadalajara, then go to Mexico Citv, where they rvill remain until the end of the month.

Elected Directors

United States Plywood Corporation announces that Lloyd S. Gilmour, partner in the New York Stock Exchange firm of Eastman, Dillon & Co., has been elected a director of the Corporation, to fill a vacancy caused by the designation of Clay Brown.

Edward J. Maroney, sales manager, has been reelected a director of the company. He recently returned after a leave of absence during which he served as :r Lieutenant iri the United States Navy.

Oregon Forest Lands Sold for Tree Fcrm

The Crown Zellerback Corporation, mammoth owners and operators of pulp and papermills in Washington and Oregon, has purchased 47,@O acres of forest lands in Columbia County, Oregon. Four thousand acres still hold a stand of old grown fir, and the rest is cut-over. The entire property will be made into a scientifically operated tree farm, apd operated only on a sustained yield basis. products will go to the purchaser's tr,vo nearest papermills located at West Linn, Oregon, and Camas, Washington.
