DeBOND / AiA – from the Makers of InnerCrete™ Membrane Technology, is an advanced biodegradable paint remover effective in the removal of old paint and coatings systems from steel, concrete, aluminum, masonry, brick and other alloys.

DeBOND / AiA is designed to InnerCrete TM remove paint and coatings on surfaces where abrasive blast clean is not an option, such as the restoration of brick, concrete or sandstone or other delicate surfaces. Using these products will ensure that the original appearance of the substrate is not damaged in any way. Physical damage which can occur during mechanical blast cleaning is avoided.

Apply in temperatures above 5o C, warmer temperatures increase efficacy. Surfaces should be free of dust, oils and excess water.

Ensure all areas not to be stripped are suitably protected. Good ventilation must be provided in confined areas. Thoroughly mix DeBOND each time prior to use and test a small area first to determine substrate colorfastness.

Application & Dwell Time Apply DeBOND / AiA using an airless sprayer or HVLP equipment. Do not atomize. Use equipment capable of 2000 psi fitted with chemical resistant packaging. Product can be applied with brush or roller only in small areas, as results will be less consistent. Once applied on surface DO NOT AGGITATE PRODUCT. If removing multiple layers, multiple application and removal of lifted layers may be required.

Dwell time will vary due to factors such as type and layer of paint, temperature etc. Most removal times will take between 1 – 6 hours to lift. Some high performance coatings may take up to 48 hours. Do not allow product to dry on surface, reapply more product.

Removal: Residue can be removed by pressure washer (2500-3000 psi). During the removal process two waste streams are created, liquid waste (composed of used product and wash water) and solid waste (paint chips/material). Liquid waste is inert and biodegradable, solid waste should be collected and disposed of according to local government regulations. For indoor application, use a scraper and squeegee then wet/ dry vacuum system. Do not store removed material in metal containers.

WashAway is an effective and easy to use two-in-one product for concrete and cementitious substrates. In one step, it efficiently etches concrete and cementitious substrates in preparation for painting or coating while also cleaning and removing deeply embedded stains and contaminants.

WashAway is sprayed, brushed or mopped on surfaces, left to dwell for 15-20 minutes, then pressure washed away. It only requires H2O to neutralize (No special neutralizing agent).

SPRAY ON - WAIT - PRESSURE WASH OFF - CLEANED & PROFILED FOR PAINTING This advanced, fully-biodegradable profiling product totally replaces muriatic acid, sand blasting and other abrasive profiling methods.

WashAway is neutralized with simple H20 (no special TM InnerCrete agents) and leaves surfaces profiled for proper paint and coating adhesion. Deep stains, rust, oils, organic materials and contaminants are removed. Organic re-growth is reduced so that cleaning jobs last longer.

Apply in temperatures above 5oC, warmer temperatures increase efficacy. Protect all plants, vegetation, glass and metals from overspray before using. Sweep away excess dirt or debris from surface. Surfaces can be wet or dry, however water should not “pool” on the surface as this will cause product dilution.

Always test a small area before use.

Application & Dwell Time Use at full strength. Apply by spraying, brushing or rolling on. Thoroughly saturate or cover (for gel) surfaces to be profiled or cleaned.

Allow to sit for 15-20 minutes. Agitation is recommended for increased surface profiling and stubborn stain removal.

Removal: Test small area to ensure stains have lifted; then pressure-wash thoroughly to remove all residue. Stubborn stains may require additional product for complete removal.

All materials are fully biodegradable and do not need to be contained; they can be rinsed away according to local regulations.

For indoor application a wet/dry vacuum system may be required for containment.

NOTE: WashAway only requires neutralizing with water (not a neutralizing agent such as baking soda). If applying paint or a sealant after cleaning ensure WashAway and any residues are completely removed. Consult with paint manufacturer’s instructions for individual profiling requirements.

Surface Preparation Always test a small hidden area first. Apply in temperatures above 5o C. Do not apply under blazing sun as this will cause the product to dry out. Product can be applied to damp or dry but not saturated (pooled water) surfaces.

All glass, plants, woods, and delicate, nonmasonry surfaces should be properly protected from overspray of WhiteAway.

Dilution Rate: Use at full strength for heavy efflorescence and stains, dilute 1:1 with water for light duty removal.

Application & Dwell Time WhiteAway is applied using a garden sprayer.

DO NOT ATOMIZE. Do not apply with a mop or roller. WhiteAway can be applied on wet surfaces. Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles. Spray surface with product until totally saturated. Heavy efflorescence may require agitation with a stiff brush. Product should be left on for at least 15 minutes, but no more than 30 minutes, to properly dissolve the efflorescence. Check product often. If product dries on the surface, reapply product.

Once removed, if efflorescence or stains still remain, reapply more product and repeat the process.

Removal: Agitate the stubborn efflorescence if necessary.

Use a pressure washer to remove residue and product. Continue washing the surface until no foamy residue remains. This step will properly neutralize the product so that it can be rinsed away without special disposal. If any efflorescence or staining remains, repeat the above steps.

Preventing the Recurrence of Efflorescence: Once the surface is totally rinsed and completely cleaned of efflorescence and ground-in dirt treat the concrete with either VersaGuard or DualGuard (depending on application). Both of these products incorporate InnerCrete™ Membrane Technology, which creates an internal, impermeable membrane within the concrete.

This InnerCrete™ Membrane effectively stops the chemical reaction that causes efflorescence to form, thereby preventing the recurrence of visible efflorescence at the surface.

Coverage: 200 Square ft /US gallon (based on 1 gallon of UNDILUTED product. If diluting the product to remove light efflorescence additional coverage is possible.)

Preventing hairline cracking and improving the abrasion resistance of concrete surfaces dramatically reduces larger cracks from occurring.

Water penetration can cause extensive damage to concrete including serious rebar corrosion. Over time rebar deterioration and rust stains create real problems, structurally and aesthetically.

SOLUTIONS FOR EFFLORESCENCE CONTROL & PREVENTION The Protocol Product line; WhiteAway and VersaGuard or DualGuard, are a complete system to effectively remove and prevent efflorescence.

THE EFFLORESCENCE CONTROL & PREVENTION SYSTEM: 1) WhiteAway Efflorescence Remover sprayed / brushed on surfaces. Its acid-free formulation is safe for most delicate surfaces. Totally saturate surface and let dwell. Agitate surface for heavy efflorescence.

2) Pressure-wash to remove and neutralize.

3) Treat with VersaGuard or DualGuard to prevent efflorescence from recurring.

Efflorescence develops as moisture and water migrate through concrete and react with elements present in concrete such as alkaline calcium components, salts and hydroxide residues. These dissolved elements are then carried to the surface where the moisture is dissolved and a whitish (usually) material is left behind. Over time, this whitish material, efflorescence, hardens on the surface and is difficult to remove.

Efflorescence affects concrete, brick and other cement-based materials.

APPLICATION VersaGuard can be used in any concrete substrate that will have paint, coating or epoxy membrane applied. When using on new concrete surfaces, concrete should be properly cured before substrate is treated.

1) Apply WashAway – Concrete Etcher / Cleaner to substrate. Let dwell at least 15-20 minutes depending on required profile. (Refer to paint manufacturer’s specifications) 2) Pressure-wash thoroughly with water to neutralize.

3) Apply VersaGuard to substrate. Allow to dry.

4) Paint/ coat according to individual manufacturer’s specifications.

SOLUTIONS FOR FLOORING Protocol Products are designed to assist in improving all types of sub-flooring and flooring systems. SOLUTIONS FOR DUSTING Dusting is the formation of a powdery chalk on the surface of concrete, usually on floors.

This powder occurs as a result of any normal traffic or wear and tear, even sweeping.

Dusting can be problematic to electronics, computers, machinery and other items which can be destroyed or damaged by the heavy, clogging dust.

DeFOUL:

Copper-Based Antifouling Paint Remover Description: DeFOUL is an advanced, fully biodegradable, spray-on antifouling paint remover. Without damaging the underlying and expensive gel coat, it quickly and effectively removes copper-based antifouling paint and eliminates the need for costly sanding, blasting or “peel and strip” methods of removal. Simply spray DeFOUL on a clean hull, wait and pressure wash off once the paint has started to lift.

DeFOUL minimizes the amount of waste and harmful impact to the environment; no airborne contaminants are created from sanding; and large amounts of waste created from “peel and strip” methods are avoided. It is effective in removing multiple layers of copperbased antifouling paint with each application. DeFOUL encapsulates toxic metal fillers, such as copper and tin and creates two waste streams; liquid waste (product and wash water) which is inert and fully biodegradable and can be washed down the drain, and solid waste (paint material) which can be collected at the drainage point and disposed of correctly.

For Use On: Fiberglass, aluminum, steel and wood boat hulls. Will NOT damage gel coats or epoxy barrier coatings.

stubborn or multi-layers but do not allow to dry out. Additional applications or small touch-up areas may be required. Small areas can be retouched using a brush. Apply in weather above 10o C. Warmer temperatures will increase efficacy.

Removal: Before removal, ensure drains are properly protected to ensure solid paint waste can be collected and disposed of properly. Liquid waste is inert and fully biodegradable; it can be washed away. Thick residues can be removed by scraping. If paint remains, reapply DeFOUL without washing the hull as water will neutralize and cause paint to re-adhere to the surface. DeFOUL is also removed using a pressure washer with a turbo tip at a slight angle to assist in “lifting” the paint from the gel coat. Using hot water will increase efficacy. Once removal is complete, neutralize surface with water.

DO NOT store removed material in metal containers!

Safety: Use standard protective clothing and safety precautions when using this product. Causes skin and eye burns, flush with water if contact occurs. Causes respiratory tract irritation; use only with proper ventilation. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a closed container when not in use.

Coverage: Approximately 40 - 120 sq ft / US gallon.

Site Preparation: DeFOUL can be used indoors or outdoors in well ventilated areas.

Ensure drains are properly protected to ensure solid paint waste can be collected and properly disposed of.

P ROTOCOL

Application & Dwell Time: DeFOUL must be applied to boat hulls that have first been cleaned of oils, residues and other organic and marine material. It should be applied using using an airless sprayer with a fan tip of (0.021-0.031) (consult TDS for a list of suggested sprayers). DO NOT ATOMIZE OR USE A ROLLER. Lightly scuffing or sanding the hull surface first will assist in penetrating and removing multiple layers of antifouling paint. Spray DeFOUL on thick enough to completely cover the antifouling paint. The color of the antifouling paint should not be visible. Ensure there is minimal “sagging” or dripping of the product.

DeFOUL should be left for at least 6 hours for antifouling paint to start lifting. (Dwell time depends on temperature and layers of paint) DO NOT AGITATE, TOUCH OR INTERFERE WITH DeFOUL. Paint will become visible, changing the color and “lifting” through DeFOUL when activated. DeFOUL can be left overnight for
