ABOUT US BRUCE AND SAMANTHA BULLDOG POTTERY

www.bulldogpottery.com Tuesday - Saturday: 10-5 most Sundays and Mondays 910-428-9728 or 336-302-3469

We are a husband and wife studio pottery duo living and working in Seagrove, NC. We moved to Seagrove in 1997 and opened our Bulldog Pottery Shop in August 2001. Our ceramic work is a subtle mix of contemporary and classic American Art Pottery. We both grew up in small college towns. Bruce grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and Samantha grew up in Blacksburg, Virginia. We were both introduced to clay while attending our hometown universities. Bruce found clay at Oklahoma State University and Samantha found clay at Virginia Tech. And we both are graduates of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Samantha received her BFA in 1995 and Bruce received his MFA in 1997. In 2007 Samantha’s parents, Ed and Gloria Henneke, moved to Seagrove and joined us to live and work at Bulldog Pottery. Ed and Gloria are ardent gardeners and help in the studio and pottery shop. And our much loved mascot, Bella, is always ready to greet our visitors. We look forward to hosting “Cousins in Clay” and welcoming the amazing potters to our studio. Our event is a mix of showing, selling, and education opportunities for the public to see art ceramics, talk with the artists that make the work and watch demonstrations by those very same artists. Every year, "Cousins in Clay" is a special treat for us and the public.
