MOVING ON
At a time when blocks of land are increasingly being sold at sm aller sizes due to the land Australia, homebuyers need a builder who can think outside the square – or perhap Burbank’s Jameson is a brand new home design with a difference: not only is the double-storey design suitable for a corner lot, it is also designed to suit a narrow 10 metre lot width.
“But, just because homebuyers are purchasing smaller blocks of land, they don’t have to settle for smaller homes: the Jameson is a double-storey design, and is available in both 26 squares and 29 squares in size.
“In an effort to cope with the shortage of land supply, homebuyers are finding themselves with smaller parcels of land on which they can build their homes,” Burbank managing director Jarrod Sanfilippo said.
“On top of all of that, the Jameson is designed to suit corner lots that can be tricky to build on – so homebuyers don’t have to compromise on size or quality.”
“Burbank’s Jameson is perfect for these smaller lots, designed to fit on a lot only 10 metres in width.

bedrooms after unwinding in the rumpus room or reading in the study. The Jameson 2900 offers a fourth bedroom, plus a separate games room. Jarrod said designing the Jameson is yet another way Burbank is listening to the needs of homebuyers. “With the Jameson, we’re offering spacious, affordable homes to suit narrow block sizes and corner blocks, without compromising on style or quality. “Burbank is passionate about providing homes for all homebuyers, regardless of where they are positioned in the market, and we will continue to respond to their needs,” Jarrod said.

The $300 million, high-density development will comprise 800-plus mostly one and two bedroom apartments as well as retail/office space, and will begin construction as early as mid-2012. “Burbank is thrilled to be in the planning stages of such a large apartment development in Dandenong,” Burbank managing director Jarrod Sanfilippo said. “Stage one is due to be launched to the market in August/September of this year, and will offer over 200 apartments starting from $265,000 for a one bedroom apartment, as well as 450m2 of retail space on the ground floor.” Appealing to both first home buyers and the investor market, Burbank’s stylish Metro apartments will offer double-glazed windows, stone kitchen benchtops, laminated timber flooring and European-style appliances. Parking for at least 80 per cent of the apartments will be incorporated into development, which is within short walking distance to Dandenong Train Station, as well as the revitalised Dandenong town centre, just over the recently-completed Stockmans Bridge. *For more information on Burbank’s new apartment building at Metro Village 3175, call 13 BURBANK (13 2872).

8 stars shine at Aurora Burbank has opened three brand new home designs at VicUrban’s Aurora Estate in Epping that are sure to shine, with two boasting 7-Star energy-efficiency ratings and the other an impressive 8-Star rating.
“The 7-Star Jarrah and Irwin and the 8-Star Tierra are all homes that will appeal to families – regardless of their level of environmental consciousness,” Burbank managing director Jarrod Sanfilippo said.
“The 23 square Tierra is the only Burbank design suitable for a small 12.5 metre by 30 metre block that offers four bedrooms.
“The 26 square Jarrah is a three bedroom plus study home and is suitable for a 14 metre by 32 metre block.
“The 37 square Irwin offers five bedrooms and four living areas spread across two levels, and its flexible design suits both corner and front-loaded lots.
“Burbank plans on continuing to surpass high expectations and deliver stylish homes to clients that are kind to both their pocket and the planet,” Jarrod said. *The Jarrah, Tierra and Irwin are open for display at Aurora Estate, Corbett Avenue, Epping North. Choosing the right carpet for your home is a big decision and impacts not only the look of your home, but also your comfort. Burbank Interior Designer Sue Lawler, advises use a light colour palette when selecting carpet to open up the entire room space, as darker colours will visually ‘enclose’ most areas. “The current trend is for neutral colours and interest in textures such as weaves,” Sue said.
Keeping it cosy underfoot
“It also pays to look into buying a good quality underlay as this plays a big part in your comfort underfoot.” The good news is most carpets these days are stain-resistant, with different fibres and blends performing well to meet a diverse spectrum of needs - from a young couple living alone to a large family with pets. It is important, though, to find a durable carpet to suit your personal circumstances. “Most people are looking for durability in a carpet,” Edge Selection Studio Manager Carol Rubidoux said. “The wear factor is particularly important for high traffic areas or staircases, which will expect greater wear over time.”

SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT A view to excellence
Windows can be undervalued: we look through them, we stare out of them, but we often neglect to give them the recognition they deserve. EcoClassic’s double-glazed windows on the other hand – that feature in Burbank’s 7-Star Future Collection of homes – deserve some recognition, as they are the most energyefficient double-glazed aluminium window on the market today. In 2004, EcoClassic owners Ed Stelling and Cynthia Zhao set out to manufacture a residential window to meet commercial standards.
But double-glazed windows aren’t just energyefficient – they also reduce noise. And, because EcoClassic windows can withstand cyclonic wind and rain, they have been installed into high rise apartments. So the next time you stare out of your window, try not to look right through it – give some thought as to where it came from! *For more information about EcoClassic, visit www.ecoclassic.com.au.
They then looked for a builder who wanted to excel in energy-efficiency. As a result, EcoClassic and Burbank have enjoyed a strong business relationship for many years.
