In a Place of
Faith & Service Father Ryan was established to serve the Catholic community of Nashville, and that commitment to our faith is strong and present each day. Our Campus Ministry program provides you opportunities to serve your community and this campus. Our Relay for Life is the largest student-led Relay in the nation. Our students are visible in the community—and in the largest numbers—at a variety of service sites. And they are visible at Mass, said each day in our St. James Chapel.

The first school in Tennessee to integrate—the first to hold dual accreditation in the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS)—the first school to integrate athletics in the South.
Father Ryan presents a rich history as a school, as a source for social change, as a place for developing character. It is a place for pride in our alumni’s service to the nation, in our students’ courage in the fight for civil rights and in our commitment to our faith.
However, you won’t just celebrate history here…you’ll be a part of making history. Being one of our more than 100 National Merit Scholar honorees in the last 15 years. Adding to our 54 state titles across 26 sports…honoring our more than 600 World War II Heroes…performing at Macy’s or finishing third at the World Drumline competition…traveling abroad to perform mission work…serving our nation. Our students are doing all of these things, adding to the legacy of Father Ryan.
