Urban Planning and Landscape Design requires extensive community and stakeholder input to ensure that a final project is financially and environmentally realistic, implementable in stages, and innovative yet grounded with the needs and aesthetic desires of the surrounding community. An Ecological Approach Client: Mali Nyeta (sp. 2015) Associated: Conway School Developed plans for potable water management, water infrastructure, agricultural strategies, and irrigation techniques for Djangoula Manikala and Djangoula Foulala in Mali. Traveled to W. Africa and held planning meetings and interviews. Created a 120pg book that has been used successfully for fundraising by Mali Nyeta. Portland Pollinator Vision Plan Client: Wild Seed Project, Portland, ME (W. 2015) Associated: Conway School Produced a city-wide vision plan for integrating pollinator habitat into the city of Portland, ME with two other students. Created GIS model to help identify key areas for creating a pollinator network. 200/206 Walnut Street: Transformation of a Vacant Lot into a Vital Community Space Client: Gardening the Community, Springfield, MA (f. 2014) Associated: Conway School Siting buildings and greenhouse; designed handicap-accessible urban farming spaces and plantings, parking, green infrastructure, education areas, and irrigation design; planting plans.
