25th January – 1st February 2020 year, this dealer-run event, which is timed to coincide with the important New Year auctions, will again occupy gallery spaces across the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Earlier incarnations of the fixture exclusively showcased drawings but over recent years it has evolved to include fine sculpture and paintings.

NOW IN ITS FOURTEENTH

Resident and visiting dealers will offer works of art from seven centuries of international art movements and disciplines. While some standout pieces will garner particular attention, other exhibitions will demonstrate a collective focus, emphasising a particular artistic theme or artist.

Organised to coincide with Master Drawings New York, a loan exhibition of drawings from Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Brunswick, Main will be on view. Drawn from one of the oldest institutional collections in the United States, this display will be hosted by Driscoll Babcock Galleries. Also of note for collectors, dealers and curators will be the ‘Met Lecture Event’ on the 24th of January. Four curators will present on drawings and prints that entered the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York as patronal gifts and bequests. A highlight of the fair will be an auction of five segments of the Berlin Wall. These graffitied relics from the sixty-eight–kilometre inner wall were dismantled by soldiers of the German Democratic Republic after the wall fell in 1989. Each piece weighs just under four tonnes.
