Indian & Islamic Art: 20th–29th October
East Asian Art: 27th October–5th November
This year Asian Art in London (AAL) celebrates its twenty-fifth year promoting the arts of Asia. Since its inaugural edition in 1998, AAL has grown into a two-week-long event involving more than forty participants. The accompanying programme has developed to include exhibitions, auctions and talks.
For the second year running the AAL will be structured into two distinct parts: the first week will focus on Islamic and Indian art with a launch evening on 20th October, followed by ten days dedicated to the arts of East Asia, with a launch on 27th October.
This year several galleries will be participating for the first time, including Alisan Fine Arts, a Hong Kong-based gallery specialising in contemporary Chinese art; David Thatcher Samurai Art; and Schoeni Projects – a platform for contemporary Chinese and Chinese diaspora art.
AAL supports emerging galleries and dealers but also strives to nurture new collectors, which is reflected in this year’s launch of a section on the AAL website devoted to more affordable works of art listed by participants, all priced under £5,000.
For full details and to download the comprehensive AAL guidebook with the events programme, maps, and lists of participants and affiliated institutions, please visit: asianartinlondon.com
