WINNER: BEST CULTURAL VENUE IN LANCASHIRE Welcome to a new year at Burnley Mechanics and what promises to be another successful season sure to delight all the family. 2016 was a very special year for Burnley Mechanics and we couldn’t be more pleased to have been named winners of Best Cultural Venue in Lancashire at the Lancashire Tourism awards held at Blackburn Cathedral on Thursday 10th November beating off tough competition from major venues throughout the North West. The Award is fitting recognition for all the hard work that has taken place at the Mechanics over the past three years. The whole team are extremely delighted to have been recognised in this way. We are very focused on ensuring our customers have an excellent experience when they visit the venue. “The Mechanics team together with our external partners work hard to present a balanced program of events and we have been very successful”. But it’s not just about the programme of events, we have forged an exceptional partnership with our catering partners who have transformed our Bistro and Pre-show catering to offer that ultimate evening out experience. Our technical team are amongst the best technicians in the north of England and their expertise adds so much to the shows and events. Local Societies continue to be an integral part of our success and new partnerships have been formed with arts organisations to increase our diversity, the creation of the largest Gin Bar in the area with over 100 gins on offer and the massive improvements and refurbishment to our front of house bars and foyer have pushed us forward. Our dedicated team work so hard to make visiting the Mechanics an excellent experience and this has been recognised by a large increase in visitor therefore it’s fantastic to be recognised in this way and win this award. Our vision is that everyone is given the opportunity to experience and be inspired by theatre and the arts and the Mechanics has been recognised as an accessible place to do this. This award is great acknowledgement of our commitment to Sport and Culture across Burnley. The Mechanics is without doubt a flagship venue in East Lancashire and recognition from the Lancashire Tourism awards is very welcome. I urge everyone to come along to the venue and see for themselves why it has been voted the best Cultural Venue in Lancashire.

Able bodied companions will be requested to assist should an emergency evacuation arise. If you use a wheelchair it is vitally important that you inform the box office at time of booking as our licensing regulations allow for two wheelchair users per event. Wheelchair spaces are situated on row A of the front stalls. Burnley Mechanics operate a free ticket for essential carer’s policy. Please check with box office for details, conditions apply.

York Street from car park to entrance. Please call the box office if assistance is required prior to your visit. Toilets
Radar key operated toilets for customers with disabilities are located on all three floors and baby-changing facilities are available in the lower foyer. Hard of hearing There is an induction loop system in the main theatre: put your hearing aid on T switch. It works best in the tier using seats 20-23 on rows F-T, and in the stalls using seats 22-25 on rows C-E. The next best areas are seats 1-5 (tier and stalls) on the other side of the theatre. Seats in the centre section should not be used. Seating at music events At selected music events where there is a dancefloor, there may be restricted seating. If you would like a seat, please arrive early as seating will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Drinking will be allowed in the auditorium (plastic glasses only) during some performances. Customer comments If you have a comment about your visit to the venue, questionnaires are available around the building or on request. Please return your forms to a member of staff. Burnley Mechanics is operated by Burnley Leisure in partnership with Burnley Council.
