Rugby Union & Boxing Skills at Burnley Rugby Club For: Ages 6 - 16
What is it?
When?
Fun, active and engaging, using rugby skills such as tag rugby, building up to tag rugby and boxing skills to establish agility, balance and coordination.

All activities keep youngsters active, improving discipline and respect whilst making new friends and learning new skills. “It’s really fun when they bring the big bags out (tackle bags) and we get to run into them (learning the tackle technique)” “By getting to do the boxing I now have a new hobby” “After being at home a lot this camp has helped me to make friends and try new things”

Hire of the boats/kayaks and Canadian Canoes with life jackets.

Age 12 plus without adult supervision for a kayak.

Intro to Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) For: Ages 11 - 16*
What is it?
When?
Fun introduction to SUP boarding that will teach you the basics in order to be able to stand up confidently on a board.
Week 1: no sessions
Opportunity to learn new skills and plenty of time to have a play and practice what you have learnt – our aim is to send you away happy and addicted to SUP boarding! Sup Boarding is a great way to be active and enjoy the local environment our sessions are delivered on Thompson Park boating lake a wonderful local park with lots of opportunities to have fun once you’ve finished your session with us. We will teach you about the equipment, water safety, how to launch a paddleboard, self-rescue and how to use different paddle styles. (All participants must be able to swim) *must be pre-booked

What is it?

Our holiday clubs are packed with fun and engaging activities to play and enjoy, meeting new friends and building confidence along the way. We play sports such as dodgeball, football, golf, frisbee, archery, fencing, yoga and many more. Bounce and race through our inflatable obstacle course in a fun and safe environment.

What is it? Offering a variety of family based activities across centres and local parks in the district. Weekly themes include: Superheroes and villains, Upbeat and Active, Animal Explores and Fun 4 Families with creative arts and crafts, fun and games, face painting and activity trails. We have then partnered with Burnley Leisure and will be providing various arts, crafts and activities linked to the Dinosaur Trail. All children attending the activity days must be accompanied by a parent/carer.

Jurassic in the parks For: Ages 4 - 16
What is it? Follow the dino trail through the park, collect our limited-edition dino cards, take part in a fossil dig and get your very own dino egg to hatch at home. Trails through the park with the dinosaur experience where children have the opportunity to get selfies and meet our new dinosaurs. Places on all dino trails must be booked in advance.

This will be a sports based programme with educational workshops included

We will have a number of sporting activities for young people to get involved with such as; football, cricket, netball, dance, dodgeball, badminton, boccia, curling and many many more, adapting all games and sports for all young people to be including. Workshops will include, mental health awareness, Show Racism the Red card. We will also look to take young people off site to engage with other facilities and sports which would can’t provide on our main site. Such as climbing, which we would look to take young people to the Leisure Box to experience.
