About Design Design Learning I majored in industrial design, have been practicing various design issues such as home appliances, elderly care, and future gadgets. However, I've always been interested in graphic design field. I was the chief editor of the graduation project, in charge of the entire visual identity as well as layout and package design. Thus I decided to pursue a master's degree in commercial design as a new start to discover more of myself. Recently I have been participating in a few design workshops, hoping to broaden my learning experiences.

Design Working I had been working at biaugust Creation Office, a design studio founded by two Japan-educated directors who are passionate about creating. I always enjoy exploring meanings and thoughts hidden in their work. Although originally launched as a graphic design studio, our projects vary from product design, lifestyle accessories, to even installation arts. I was delighted to participate in all of these. In the other hand, I also have intership experience at Pentagram in New York. Pentagram is the world's largest independent design consultancy. I understand more about practical aspects of design process. It was a truly unforgettable experience. Currently I do freelancing jobs by myself, taking every chance to make my clients see the value of design and to establish connections. My goal is to start my own design studio one day.

Apar t from Design I enjoy going to exhibitions, movies, or concerts. Those activities benefit my design work all the time. I love traveling as well, have been to Japan and Shanghai. It fascinates me how different cultures interpret design and aesthetics, all rendered on a piece of printed matter. In the future, I expect to study or work abroad, explore more possibility and diversity in design through the foreign experiences.

B aget Baget is a Taiwanese bakery brand, the Chinese name means "Bread lab". Baget hopes to create a new consumer experience and to build a focus not only on health, natural, but also create the characters that they could feel free to mix and match the bread and bread sauce by themselves. Therefore, the visual identity design, I use the common mathematical symbols“+-×÷” into the brand standard word, and I choose the bold and bright orange color to initiate the appetite of consumer, to create a stylish modern bakery. “Baget” is a Taiwanese bakery brand. Meanwhile, its Chinese name “ 麵包食驗坊 ” literally means "Bread Laboratory". “Baget” aims to create a new consumer experience by letting customers to mix and match the bread and sauces. Besides that, Baget also focuses on consumers’ health by care picking of organic and natural ingredients. Apparently, different combinations of bread or sauce options may come out with different flavors. This ratio concept is alike with the mathematical solutions. As a result, for the visual identity design, the logo is presented using the common mathematical symbols“+-×÷”. Apart from that, bold and bright orange color is chosen to initiate the appetite of consumers and create a stylish modern bakery.

Sun Li Orchard Sun Li Orchard is one of the traditional fruit brands in Taiwan since 1989. Initially, they sold only Pitayas or commonly known as Dragon Fruits, but now they wish to expand the product line and also venture into the teens market. This project is going to redesign their Visual Identity and present a brand new image. For the logo, the design of the Chinese characters mimics the growing method of the Pitaya plants. As “Sun Li” literally means “Victory” in Mandarin, the letter “V” is used in the logo as well. The new logo brings an active, encouraging and loud image. Description in the bracket will be replaced according to the selling products. For other visual identity elements, fruit seeds and fleshes are used as metaphors to represent the initial sowing and the final harvest process.

Yodex Exhibition Print When looked from a distance, they seem like parted lips ready to say something; but if you take a closer look, they are actually a pair of firm hands. Near and far, the differences exist between distances. We do not design only by speaking with our mouth. If you approach it, look at it, and feel it, you will realise the true meanings of design and see the pair of hands that never stops working to the goal. The cover is designed by using plastic embossing production method to increase its visual and touch effects, which gives viewers a strong visual impact directly from the pair of hands bursting out from the cover such as indicating reality. The bright magenta colour represents the external stimulation to our senses and the curious hearts. This is our graduate image design a pause to our studies, a pass to our future.

In my Kompas ceramics lessons of Design Academy Eindhoven, I restarted to research and understand what ceramic is, trying to find the secrets behind the ceramics, included clays, modeling, glazes, kiln, and so on...... This reference book is edited by me. In order to ease the reading experience, I select saddle stitches for the binding method. In short, the book mainly talks about ceramic elements classification and induction. All the procedures of my ceramics works are included in this book.

Library 2o4o What's the next physical book? In the library 2040, I am thinking about what kind of physical books will be presented in the future? What if people do not opt for papers anymore? I would like to emphasize on exaggeration of materials so that it exudes unique senses and becomes a controversial issue. (Golden book) This book could bring a story about paper becoming more expensive than gold in the future. Then you can image if you want to own a physical book, you must be rich indeed! I also make a golden box for it, because it need be protected perfectly. (Mirror book) The idea of this book design is about "You are what you read", fitting the characteristics of a mirror. The inner page will reflect your face mixing with the contents while you are reading. Initially, this physical book is hoped to convey a message that people would think twice before picking a book to read and avoiding all those so-called best-selling books. (Wooden Book) It is all made from wood, including the cover and the inner pages itself. The message of this book is to remind the readers to treasure and love the physical books you own now as they mean more than just a paper.

Book Cover Design 1 A book written with the lifelong experience of the Yamakawas from Japan;A book about destined lives, surrounded with love and fate, as illustrated in the cover design.“It is destined to meet you in this life, to create the life blueprint with angel in your mind.” The visual design is based on and expanded from the two red umbrellas of lovers. In Japan, red umbrella represents luck and happiness; it is usually used as the metaphor of love in many dramas. The space where the two umbrellas overlapped is to provide the readers an unlimited imagination. The vertical layout of characters as well as the falling feather represents raindrops; the colour baby pink symbolises the soft touch of the angle’s skin.

Benefits of Fruits According to my observations, Taiwanese teenagers seldom buy or even consume fruits. I have a friend who never eats fruits. This may sound ridiculous but it also encourages me to think about way of conveying the importance of fruits. Therefore, I make this series of posters which connect the benefits of eating fruits with some functional daily products. To illustrate the messages, please see the descriptions below posters. Each poster has a simple slogan: we don't sell daily products, but we sell fresh and healthful fruits. The products are simulated with the appearance of fruits to convey the message of the poster.

The Nonlife Zoo This series of t-shirts is from "Biaugust" in cooperation with "NET", and I also participated in these t-shirts' graphic designs. "The Nonlife Zoo" animals are based on human form with standing position. The human gesture is the metaphor for animals’ tragic extinction that caused by humans. it also represents the soul of dead animals. It is even an ironic insinuation of human behavior that leads humans to their own destruction. The face of skull represents the frustration, anger and death ! Biaugust are trying to use these visual links to a clear expression, that is, human beings will be facing extinction if they no longer cherish the existing environment and coexist with nature and animals.

Clothing Frame "Clothing Frame" subverts traditional large closet which is heavy and takes up space and changes our patterns of use for clothing furniture. We use modularized design to divide the items in the closet. Users can combine the size and color they like and expand the closet. The horizontal space on the wall that can be expanded is used to create a personalized "Clothing Frame." In terms of the external appearance, the concept of wall decoration is included in the design. "Clothing Frame" looks like many square frames in different sizes. It shows the pattern and style of each different clothes, which is like painting, and adds the fun to clothing furniture other than storing. The ways of using "Clothing Frame" is closely related to the characteristic of its material. Users only have to lightly push the cover and take out what is needed. It gives the user a new experience.
