Transportation The number of newly registered vehicles in the city went up 79 pct y-o-y in March, with motorcycles up 88 pct. Vehicle traffic at the Gongbei Border Gate dropped 12 pct, rising by the same amount at the Cotai crossing. Ferry terminal passenger movements were stable, while commercial flight numbers fell slightly. Container cargo by land fell 20 pct y-o-y and 48 pct in Q1, with 93 pct going through the Cotai border. Melco Resorts & Entertainment is dropping Crown Resorts from a joint venture to invest in Japan, with chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho noting it will “allow Melco to pursue Japan alone”.
