VANITY FAIR AWARDS INSIDER AND IHG HOTELS & RESORTS CLOSE OUT THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL WITH A STAR-STUDDED BEACHSIDE LUNCHEON
IHG Hotels & Resorts was delighted to partner with Condé Nast to host the Vanity Fair Awards Insider Cannes Lunch on Wednesday May 22, 2024. The exclusive beach luncheon was staged at Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel and co-hosted by Jane Mackie, SVP, Lifestyle and Premium Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, Richard Lawson, Vanity Fair’s Chief Critic and Awards Staff Writer, David Canfield, both of whom are also co-hosts of VF’s Little Gold Men podcast. The guest list featured some of the year’s hottest talent including Diane Kruger, Hannah Dodd, Colman Domingo, Lewis Tan, Ayun Broomfield, Jonah Hauer-King, Ed McVey, Sebastian Croft and others.
The VIP luncheon was staged at the legendary Carlton Beach Club at Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel – the location of the very first festival in 1946 and the favored location for those attending the event ever since. The setting, against the Côte d’Azur backdrop, featured a 10-meter dining table dressed in the hotel’s Beach Club’s iconic yellow and white stripe motif. The menu featured perhaps Cannes’ most emblematic dish – The Carlton Beach Club’s famous Homer Lobster Brioche.
“We are so thrilled to partner with Vanity Fair Awards Insider for the Cannes Lunch 2024. Carlton Cannes has long been a fixture of the festival and as a Regent hotel, it is uniquely positioned to delight the industry’s brightest stars,” said Jane Mackie, Senior Vice President-Luxury, Lifestyle and Premium Brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel has been ‘an icon of the Riviera’ for more than 100 years, in this time becoming a leading lady in the annual Cannes Film Festival since its hosting of the very first festival in 1946. Just one of many movie moments in which the hotel has appeared. Others include Alfred Hitchcock’s “To Catch a Thief,” with the hotel the famed location where film star Grace Kelly met Prince Rainier of Monaco. Since 1913 the hotel has popped champagne, forged memories, and pushed boundaries to create unforgettable moments, whilst continuing to be forever intertwined with the history of cinema.
