Bank exec named digital leader in PhilSec Awards

DAVAO CITY—The founding chairman of anti-cyber scam Fintech Alliance.Ph was named the “Digital leader of the Year” at last week’s “PhilSec Awards 2023” held in Manila.

Angelito M. Villanueva is also the executive vice president and chief innovation and inclusion officer at the Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), where he spearheaded the adaption of several electronic financial applications.

The PhilSec Award on July 6, attended by 600 corporations and financial establishments, cited Villanueva for leading Fintech Alliance.Ph’s consumer education campaign.

It was an industry-led nationwide campaign “to promote education and awareness amongst Filipinos on how to protect themselves against scams and digital threats and to bolster cyber resilience and consumer protection.”
