“A glimpse, approximately” is Matei Dumitriu’s first solo show at Suprainfinit Gallery. The exhibition entails a series of new works that investigate different notions of time: a time that includes a beginning and an end, a flowing time that can only be experienced through repetition, simultaneity, and contingency, a time from the past that is just approximately sealed off from the perceivable present, and a time like a creature, which is just as much personal as it is temporal. The opening is synchronised with #DOIJOI, the latest collaborative initiative on the Romanian art scene, which takes place on the second Thursday of each month as part of an extensive after-work programme of contemporary art spaces.
