Huawei Battery Technology: One Major Reason Why I Sold My iPhoneX

Last month I sold my iPhoneX on Carousell (consumer to consumer marketplace for 2nd hand goods) and switched to the Huawei P20 Pro. Why? Well there were a few reasons that tipped me back to the world of Android but one of the major reasons was the battery. Huawei has made some huge strides in battery technology over the last few years and it’s now reaping the fruits of their investment. Larger Capacity Battery on Huawei P20 Pro In the most simplest comparison, the batter capacity of the Huawei P20 Pro is a considerable 4000mAh compared to the 2716mAh of the iPhoneX. In terms of usage, that translates to around 17 hours and 12 hours respectively. That extra 1300mAh makes hours of difference. Rapid Charging Time : 0 - 100 percent in 1 hour 30 mins Huawei released news in 2015 that it had made some significant battery breakthroughs in their Watt Laboratory. They shared how their research was able to charge 48 percent of a 3,000 mAh battery in only 5 minutes. I haven’t tested this with the Huawei P20 Pro (who runs their phone down to zero?) but
I’ve observed it does charge from 0 percent to 100 percent in just under an hour and a half. The iPhoneX takes over 2 hours to achieve the same charge situation. Huawei’s Watt Laboratory tech working very nicely! Other Huawei Battery Advances Besides giving consumers larger capacity batteries and faster charge times, the quickly becoming famous Watt Laboratory has developed grapheneassisted lithium-ion batteries that can withstand higher temperatures than normal lithium-ion batteries. Ordinary lithium-ion batteries can function up to 50 degrees Celsius, whereas new new Huawei batteries can operate at up to 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit!). Perfect for hot regions and means a higher lifespan for these new types of batteries. And of course that means less waste. As electronic vehicles and drones become more and more embedded into our society especially with useful use cases such as automated transportation and surveillence, this new battery tech will make the future possible faster. Monthly Charging - One Day... So there you have it - I hope that gives you some insights why I moved off my iPhoneX to the Huawei as well as highlight the amazing work that Huawei is doing in the field of batteries. Particularly in terms of rapid charge times, operating at higher temperatures, larger capacities which in totality lead to more environmentally friendly technology through reduction in hazardous waste. Personally, I’m looking forward to the day where I can use my phone as I do now (like a beast) but will only have to charge it at the end of the month! Imagine that?!
