THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES (LAS) is Butler’s largest college with more than 50 programs from departments in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, as well as interdisciplinary programs from across the University—programs designed to open your mind to new ways of thinking and help you adapt in a changing world. As an LAS student, you’ll engage in timeless learning practices while emphasizing professional communication skills and cuttingedge practices in science and technology, language and culture, and philosophy and psychology.
You’ll conduct research, learn how to question everything, and meticulously test new theories. You’ll build professional portfolios through involvement in research and internship programs, through the support of close faculty mentoring and advising, and via a variety of career services like resume and jobinterview prep. By learning how to analyze information, think creatively, clearly communicate ideas, and make values-based decisions, you’ll have the skills you need to lead a meaningful, productive, and rewarding life.
