BLISHED

In the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we offer students an array of perspectives to help them think for themselves. You can explore rain forests in Panama or literature in Spain, present your research at national conferences, or intern with businesses, government, and non-profits in Indianapolis and Washington, DC. We help you take your knowledge beyond the classroom and into the world.

Butler’s Department of English offers a comprehensive undergraduate degree with four separate paths to choose from, each designed specifically for a student’s intended area of study: literature; creative writing; public and professional writing; and literary theory, culture, and criticism. We offer the resources of a large research institution with the commitment to small class size, passionate teaching, and rigorous individual mentoring of a small, private university. Our students graduate as deep and adventurous thinkers and communicators, with skills and mindsets suited to a range of careers and lives.
