COLLEGE of LIBERAL ARTS and SCIENCES
In the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, we offer students an array of perspectives to help them think for themselves. You can explore rain forests in Panama or literature in Spain, present your research at national conferences, or intern with businesses, government, and non-profits in Indianapolis and Washington, DC. We help you take your knowledge beyond the classroom and into the world.
Butler’s Department of Philosophy and Religion offers an undergraduate degree in Religion that helps students better understand not only their own religion, agnosticism, or atheism, but also other world religions and cultures through the use of diverse methodological approaches and tools, including those from linguistics, literature, history, archaeology, anthropology, psychology, and sociology. Our program supplements our rich departmental curriculum with the broad tradition of a liberal arts education to ensure that students graduate with a more profound picture of the world and their place in it.
