Sarah Bowman

Dark Lupins and Rust Irises

50cm x 70cm Oil on Board £2,300

“I never begin a painting knowing exactly how it will end up. They start with the landscape and the windowsill or the table and the rest emerges later, the objects placed last, perhaps a curtain will slip in at the side as if a breeze floated in. Each element of the composition is a reaction to the last thing painted. I like to work on at a few paintings at a time so that they stay fresh.”

Jeni Cairns is an artist sculptor living and working in the fens. Her whole life since childhood nature has given her constant inspiration and wonder. The connections and gold she has found have formed new pathways to explore in her work. Charlotte Cornish

Winter Garden III 150cm x 100cm Acrylic on Canvas £4200

“I am fascinated by the qualities of paint, the unending possibilities of colour and colour relationships, and the potential this has to create connections and reactions.” Charlotte finds her inspiration from places she has travelled to, using photographs of past trips as initial starting points for her compositions. Her works end up a mixture of elements from the visual world, with her own emotional responses and experience.

Ranunculas with Cooking Spoons & Easter Eggs

91cm x 61cm

Acrylic

£3,995

“My daily dog walks, holidays and even trips to the supermarket provide inspiration. Landscapes, new seasons, sometimes just colour combinations, bright green grass against a blue grey sky or shapes of moored boats in a harbour, patterns on packaging all get me going. Fabulous bunches of flowers on a flattened table are frequently all I need and I am regularly purchasing new mugs for the next painting!”

Gerdine Duijsens

160cm x 100cm

Acrylic on Canvas

£3,400

Dinner By Candlelight

Gerdine’s work is a synthesis between the figurative and the abstract. Her free and painterly style works well with the often inebriated characters she depicts. These gluttonous socialites are shown mid-party; slurping oysters and huge piles of strawberries or demanding excessive quantities of champagne.

Jack Frame

Vortex 122cm x 122cm Oil and Gold Leaf on Canvas

£3,850

Jack is most noted for his striking depictions of trees and sky. His works have a haunting grace and solemnity. Trees have always been a focal point of the artist’s work, the blossoming cherry in particular a recurring theme throughout his practice. As if with the awe of a child, he paints these trees as monuments, as the compositional focal point of each work and often set against his trademark gold backdrop.

Diane Griffin

Scroll Vases

Various Sizes

Ceramic

£35 - £65

The paper-like scrolls in Diane’s work were inspired by a trip to Jerusalem many years ago. Here she visited the Wailing Wall and was intrigued by the thousands of wishes and prayers written on paper and crammed between the stones in the wall. She was inspired by the collective focus for so many peoples’ hopes and wishes at this ancient site and their interaction with it.

Les Limites du Terrien

“I imagine my paintings and sculptures as the moments of a story and it’s up to you to create the whole story. There are several different scenarios, and that’s what I appreciate: the diversity of your looks. You are an actor of this exhibition: Look! Imagine! Speak! Exchange your opinions! A work exists only by the spectator’s gaze, my paintings exist only thanks to your imagination.” – Antoine Josse
