The Highland Holiday 67cm x 47cm Oil on Found Scottish Slates

“Without wishing to sound dramatic, my life has been and continues to be a devotion to painting. It is the area that I feel most natural and accepted within. Each new work is a challenge, offering up its own character and feel. My aim always being to offer up something of its original source, some form of connection to the human condition, and a continuing investigation into the properties of paint.”

Beckie Reed

Wilder 110cm x 140cm Acrylic and enamel on Canvas £5,600

Beckie’s lively canvases are full of contrast- with each piece a mix of expressive washes and areas of highly concentrated detail. Her work is always evolving, and she remains inspired and excited by the discovery of new techniques. But although she loves to experiment in medium and style, the formal elements of painting are very important to the artist- colour and composition always remain key aspects.

Alison Stockmarr

£600

Kings College Cambridge
30cm x 35cm Collage, Book

Alison Stockmarr’s work has an ethos of storytelling and repurposing at its heart. All materials are recycled into scenarios that at first glance allude to the past, but with closer inspection often offer an ironic nod to the present. Apertures are cut into books and record covers and ephemera collaged in layers. The Great Gatsby 30cm x 35cm

16cm x 10cm

Ceramic

£180

Inspired by a Chinese bottle gifted to Tripp as a child, each piece she makes assumes its own identity with the application of transferred decoration. The artist abstracts, through tearing and cutting, the stories told in collected imagery and text of lives past and present centring around the human condition from significant to trivial. New meanings are created through visible fragments which hint at the narrative.

JJ Vincent

Black and White Cat 54cm Ceramic £425

JJ Vincent is fascinated by clay- the fact that we can take what is essentially mud, and, using a little imagination, produce something that has the potential of invoking emotional response for decades, if not centuries. In the artist’s own words, “I will probably not be around then, but it is reassuring to think that my fingerprints will be.”

Chris Wood

As glass is used more and more predominately as a sheeted shield, it is perceived as a material that excludes the majority of people from huge corporate buildings or as a functional piece of tableware that we unthinkingly use everyday. Chris is interested in restoring the lyrical properties of glass and its ability to captivate.
