Blues Bot Mixed Media 40 cm £265
Joanne’s work is based on her love of dogs and she produces one of a kind sculptural pieces in stoneware crank clay that capture the unique character of each dog. She exhibits her pieces through galleries across the UK and has taken numerous commissions from private clients.
Jane Muir’s idiosyncratic hand-painted figures represent a witty and uncluttered observation of the world. Each charming character is hand modelled. Their recognisable and individual traits are perhaps due to the freedom of the artist’s chosen medium- she uses clay, allowing her to develop her ideas during the making process.
Catherine’s highly textural figures are hand-built out of crank clay and fired high to a stoneware temperature, with a sparkly lithium glaze over the surface. They have exaggerated proportions; playfully large feet (often with decorated soles) and elongated legs blend up into smaller torsos.

Bronze Resin on Wood 17.4cm x 10cm x 11cm £680
Founder of the Bristol Drawing School, Carol Peace is a figurative sculptor who could not work without drawing. Throughout her process of creating, she makes detailed life drawings before modelling her self-reflective figures in clay.
Each Bob Race handmade pot has a modern, earthy aesthetic. The artist focuses on texture, generally limiting his colour palette to powder white and deep or coppery rusts, with subtle verdigris, though you may discover an unexpected speckeld glaze if you look inside. “Clear, vivid colours, are an integral feature of my work, they were probably instilled into my psyche during my childhood growing up in the tropics. Colour has a powerful therapeutic action, which can have a healing and re-balancing effect for both the artist and the viewer.”
Initially self-taught, JJ has always had a “natural tendency to do, make and understand everything.” He is fascinated by clay- the fact that we can produce something that has the potential of invoking emotional response for decades, if not centuries. “I will probably not be around then, but it is reassuring to think that my fingerprints will be.”
“My work is primarily a celebration of the animal with influence being drawn from many sources: T’ang sculptures, netsuke, cave paintings and antiquity. More recently I have returned to metaphor and narrative with my own dialogue, focusing particularly on bears and elephants.”
