Go Red for Women The 2022 Northwest Louisiana Go Red for Women Gala “Reclaim your Rhythm” was held at Sam’s Town Casino Ballroom. Go Red for Women is not just about wearing red and donating to the American Heart Association, it’s also about preventing heart disease and stroke by promoting a healthy lifestyle through education and awareness. Critical Mass 10 Literacy and Visual Arts Showcase was held at Artspace with more than 100 Northwest Louisiana artists participating in this Shreveport Regional Arts Council event. Critical Mass 10 brought professional critical reviews from nationally acclaimed Visual Art Critic Emily Wilkerson and Literary Art Critic Leigh Camacho Rourks. 1. Genaro Ky’ ly’ Smith Genaro Ky’ ly’ Smith won Critical Mass 10 Literacy Award of $2,000 for his fiction entitled “A Napalm Lullaby.” Smith is pictured with Artspace President Joe Kane and Literary Critic Leigh Camacho Rourks 2. Krewe of Centaur Grand Bal XXX “Centaur Reminisces,” held at Shreveport Convention Center, was a walk down memory lane, sharing memories of the past 30 years. Captain Ricky Bridges began the Tableau followed by the Duke and Duchess of Frolic Jason and Marji Howard, the Duke and Duchess of Fantasy Fred Lowery II and Linda Meservey, Duke and Duchess of Fun Dustin and Rachel Powell, and Duke and Duchess of Food Steve Mrozek and Margaret Farmer. Also included in the Tableau were Princess Landry Brancamp, Princess Zoey Hays, Princess Marianna Murphey, Princess Anna Claire Smith, Prince Blake Brown, Prince Christian Meehan, Prince Darren Melton, and Prince Collin Saunders. The grand finale of the Tableau was the presentation of the ever so graceful and elegant Centaur Queen XXX Tracey James and the Regal Centaur King XXX Hal Rogers. 1. Gemini Grand Bal XXXIII “Night at the Movies” was held at the Shreveport Convention Center. It was Lights, Camera, “Night at the Movies” was held at the Shreveport Convention Center. It was Lights, Camera, Action! as Gemini paid tribute to some of their favorite films like Goldfinger, Forrest Gump, Cannonball Run, Talladega Nights, and Aquaman. The Royal Court came out in elaborate costumes representing their most treasured movies.
