NORTHWEST LOUISIANA MASTER GARDENERS OFFER GRANTS FOR GARDENING PROJECTS

Grants will be awarded to projects that promote beautification, provide horticultural education, showcase sustainable gardening practices, or enhance the quality and quantity of publicly accessible green spaces. NWLA Master Gardeners want to fund projects that make a difference in the community and involve collaboration among organizations.

The NWLA Master Gardeners will accept grant applications from $300 to $10,000. Groups eligible for Community Grants from $300 to $10,000. Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, the Shreveport and Bossier American Job Centers, and Southern University Shreveport (SUSLA) announce plans for an Ochsner LSU Health Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program in North Louisiana. The MA Now Program is tuition-free and open to Shreveport and Bossier residents ages eighteen and older through funding provided by the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The program features accelerated hybrid classroom, clinical, and on-the-job training, and helps Certified MAs expand their careers. The program also includes certification training for students in CPR, Certified EKG Technician, Basic Life Support, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
