Greetings Everyone: Well, we just blew through the months of this year. It went past pretty quickly, right? Before we know it, it will be December...and New Years 2019. How has this year gone for you? The experts say the American economy is continuing to grow, but things are pretty slow for the money making opportunity market... Check out what the news media has been saying . . . "the middle class in the United States(and much of Europe for that matter) has been in decline for years." (CNN May 18, 2018) “Almost half of US families can’t afford basics like rent and food” (Marketwatch June 2, 2018) “50 million American households can’t even afford basic living expenses” (Wall Street Journal February 13, 2018) US households shoulder a record 13.15 trillion dollar debt. When unemployment is high and money is tight, more people are looking for some ways to make extra money, just to pay the bills and keep food on the table. When personal finances are tight the market becomes flooded with all kinds of get rich money making opportunities. The market becomes filled with scam artists selling quick money schemes to take advantage of people who need to make extra money. My main goal is to use the experience that I've gained going way back to 1991 to educate people about the realities of making quick money from home. However, when people are desperate for money, they are not interested in being educated, they just want money... NOW! So, my challenge is to stop these people in their tracks - to get them to listen to me...

You will be selling leads to small businesses such as Plumbers, Roofers, Lawn Care Services, Carpet Cleaners, Carpenters, Painters, Heating and Cooling services etc. Now, we will use the Yellow Pages to do a little research. We'll start with Roofers because roofing jobs can run into at least a few thousand dollars. Take a look at the section on Roofers in your Yellow Pages. Look at the display ads, the larger the ad the better. This is just to give you an idea of what your target market looks like and the money they are willing to spend to advertise their business... Write down the phone numbers and web sites of about seven of the roofing companies that have full or half page ads. Call these companies and ask for the name of the owner or manager. Write a letter to each manager. Your letter will explain how your service can help them get more new customers. Call your service something like, "Wilson's Lead Generation Services." Be sure to place it on the letterhead. Be sure to use the name of the business manager on the letter. This will increase the chances of your offer being read. It is important that you send your letter through direct postal mail, not email. This will give you a better chance of getting their attention. Bookkeeping Tips Under the new tax law, bonus depreciation, referred to as “100% bonus,” is taken in the first year a new or used asset is purchased and put into service after September 27, 2017. If the company takes a Sec. 179 deduction, the Sec. 179 amount is deducted before depreciation is taken. Under the law, a company is required to take 100% bonus depreciation in Year 1 on property that has a MACRS recovery period of 20 years or less; i.e., most machinery and equipment. assets purchased after September 27,2017. To avoid this requirement, a company must elect not to take 100% bonus by attaching a statement to its tax return. There are reasons why a company may elect not to take either Sec. 179 or 100% bonus. For example, the company may not need that much of a deduction for the year or may not want to make its income look too low because it is applying for a loan, or for other reasons. Key factor: If a company elects not to take 100% bonus, it must do so for all assets of the same class purchased during the year, but you should check with your CPA. EXAMPLE: In 2018, MidCo purchases $740,000 of equipment, all 5-year property, including a used car—cars are also 5-year property—. MidCo will take a Sec. 179 deduction on all the equipment but elects out of 100% bonus for the car. Can MidCo take 100% bonus on the equipment other than the car? No, MidCo cannot take 100% bonus on the other equipment. When a company elects to take 100% basis for an asset, no bonus can be taken on any other assets in the same class. Because all the equipment that MidCo purchased was in the same 5-year property class, no bonus depreciation can be taken on any of it.
