Angeliki | www.cookika.com

I'

m Angeliki and my friends call me Kika. Since I was a kid, l constantly meddled in my mother's kitchen. I liked to collect images, smells and tastes, while trying to save as much information and experience for future use. I have a weakness for sweets and therefore I'm constantly looking for healthy alternatives that offer enjoyment without the caloric burden while I give particular importance to the nutritional value of my ingredients. For me, being in the kitchen and testing new recipes is the best psychotherapy. I feel complete when I share my food with loved ones, old friends and new which I make thanks to CooKika's virtual kitchen.

i, I am Athena owner of the blog craftcooklove.gr. I enjoy cooking and baking, decorating my space, easy crafting. I share all of this experience with my blog readers. Also I try to squeeze all of my roles within 24 hours: being a mum to Penelope, being a spouse to John, being a dog mum to Pares, being a working girl. Wish me luck!

H

i, I am Anna. Graphic designer, mum to Stefanos, wife to Theo but above all creative! Love colors, circle, sphere, photography, nature, recycling… I am exciting to find ideas and transform simple materials into craft original items. You can find me on “Journey into Creativity”.

Eleni | craftwithmom.blogspot.gr

H

i! My name is Eleni and you can find me and read me at my blog, CraftWithMom. Mom of two, but also addicted to crafts, the past 5 years I am trying to combine both of them. In love with the three men of my life, I am always getting inspired by them. I adore the sea, seashells and Greek islands, but also a walk in the mountains and rainy weather. I enjoy camping and spending time with my friends. I admire handmade things, made with love .

I

love to create things from old materials and especially jewels. My first love was sewing, but then I was trying to find more materials to use to create something useful. My first attempt? When I was almost 6 years old I created a necklace with beads from my grandma’s old curtain! More experiments followed with uncommon materials but finally my latest and biggest love is fabric buttons!!!! My life completed with my young princess and the young prince! Crafting small creations and jewels with my girl is something really relaxing for me. And what about the prince? Well, yesterday he started using glow! He will soon be an active member in our projects!

Maro | www.akamatra.com

H

i! I am Maro also known as Akamatra, which is an old fashioned way to say (in Greek) that a woman is lazy in house related chores! That's me! I love to experiment with DIY projects (blame it on my Chemistry background) instead of doing the dishes! I am addicted to crafting, drinking tea and eating chocolate. I try to make things that I need and I don't bother myself with complicated DIYs that produce sophisticated stuff no one is going to use! Stick around, we'll have fun!

Ingredients: For the cake: 4 eggs 300 g. sugar 250 g. butter at room temperature 1 tsp. vanilla extract 500 g. cake flour 1 tsp. baking powder 2 cups milk (500 ml) zest of one lemon For the frosting: 230 g. cream cheese 125 g. butter 1 cup powdered sugar For decoration: Masrhmallows Some melted chocolate

28

Preparation: Preheat oven at 170 degrees Celsius.

For the frosting:

Grease and flour a 24cm round cake form.

Beat on low speed the butter, icing sugar and cream cheese until homogenized. Increase the speed of the mixer and beat for approximately 3-5 minutes, until smooth. Put the frosting in the refrigerator to stand for at least half an hour.

In a deep bowl or mixer bowl, beat the eggs and the sugar until white and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add butter in small pieces and beat until incorporated. Sieve the flour with the baking powder and add to the mixture alternately with milk. Finally add the lemon zest and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture in the mold and bake the middle oven rack for 50-60 minutes. We test if ready when placing a toothpick in the center of the cake and comes out clean.

Decoration: Frost the entire cake. Then, using the mashmallows, design the face of the lamb. Melt chocolate and with a piping bag design the mouth and eyes / eyelids of the lamb.

Good luck!

Allow to stand for 10 minutes and then remove from pan and let cool completely on a rack.

Spring garland Maro | www.akamatra.com

S

pring brings light and optimism, colors and the

promise of summer. Our house needs renewing but that doesn't have to be expensive or difďŹ cult to make. With an old book, some bakers twine and a little bit of yarn you can make a spring garland for your room!

40

Âť

41

44

You'll need a few pages of an old book (preferably a destroyed one) a couple of meters of bakers twine, yarn in the colors of the twine, paper glue, a pair of scissors and a pom pom maker. Cut out a triangle from the book pages (height 14cm, width 9cm) and use it as a pattern to cut out 8-10 triangles depending on how long you need the garland to be. Cut a big piece of bakers twine around two meters long or more. Put the twine over the triangles and fold them over it at about 1cm. Use the glue to glue the fold down and cut the excess on the sides. Place the triangles with a 20cm distance between them. With the pom pom maker make 4 pom poms. One of each color and two with mixed colors. Use their long ends to tie them between the triangles going one by one. With the same color yarn make 6 small tassels and tie them between the triangles which you left without a pom pom. Make a loop to each end of the bakers twine and hang on the wall Ready!!!

May this spring be an awesome one!!!!

Easter soaps Zina | www.efzincreations.com

W

e are in love with Easter and the main reason is that is in

the middle of Spring, so a great opportunity to have small excursions with an amazing weather! Also, do not forget that this period is just perfect for handmade gifts especially to our godchildren. So this year except the cloths and the Easter candle, what about creating handmade soaps full of amazing colors just for them instead of offering sweets favours? They can be created really easy and in any schema we wish. I am sure that they will be loved!

Âť

48

49

52

Materials for handmade Easter soaps: • Glycerin soap base • Easter Soap Molds • Food Coloring • Ethanol in Mist bottle (optionally)

The procedure is really simple and easy. Firstly cut in pieces the glycerin soap base and put it in a bowl perfect for microwave and heat them for 30secs. It should be liquid by now but if not heat it for a few seconds more. Split it in a few bowls, one for each color. Add in every bowl 1-2 drops of food coloring and mix it. Spray the mold with ethanol (We do this in order to remove any small bubbles that are created in the glycerin) and add the liquid mixture. Spray once more and let it dry. Remove them carefully from the soap mold and your soaps are ready! Tips: 1. If you wish to make them aromatic then just add 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oil. Just have in mind not to over do it since the soaps are for children! 2. In case it is not able to find soap molds, you can replace them with ice cube molds or even with chocolate molds. Actually this time of the year it is really easy to find molds in many adorable patterns!

Happy “clean” crafting!!!! And Happy Easter!
