Annual Report // 2021

Dear Pastor, We continually thank God for you and the great grace upon you in Jesus. Thank you for all your hard work building His House, your faithfulness to His call and for bringing Jesus to this generation. 2021 was a wild year... Lockdowns, then release, then lockdowns all over the world. Regaining momentum has been challenging. Global scandals and the ‘splash effect’ on churches brought another unexpected impact. All of us are rebuilding teams everywhere right now. Yet, here you are: Standing strong, filled with the Spirit, pressing on in faith, serving Him. We are so proud of you! You and I know Jesus promised to build His church and that hell stands no chance against it. What a privilege to be building His church with Him and each other. We furnish you with our C3 church Global Annual Report for 2021 with great joy, celebrating all God has done through us working together. Thank you again for your tireless commitment to this great work we have been called to. Praying for you, believing His strength, revival, and overflowing cup be yours.

Yours in Christ, Phil & Chris Pringle

REGIONAL UPDATE Americas It is fair to say that the pandemic caused disruption in our churches in 2021, more so in large cities such as New York and Los Angeles, that saw major disruptions and population shifts – something not seen in our generation. Most churches pivoted quickly to go online. At least two C3 churches started online, and continue to grow after the worst of Covid is over. Jesus said, unequivocally, that he would (continue) to build his church and we have seen that. Out of all difficulties God’s redeeming hand is apparent, and one way that has been seen is the realisation of the need to disciple God’s people and not just provide a great Sunday experience (which we all love). The times we have been able to see each other in 2021 were wonderful, reconnective, and encouraging moments. We had (and still have) a gifted team helping us: Phil and Denise Buechler, Jeff and Sunny Kane, Joshua and Georgina Kelsey, Jake and Nicole Sweetman and Joe and Nancy Martin.

Our Senior Leaders Gathering in Atlanta in January of 2021 was the first time we had been together for 2 years, so it was a heart-warming time of reconnecting. Lots of voices involved. C3 Stories was a high light, where churches of all sizes get to tell their stories – triumphs and difficulties. We also welcomed new faces – wonderful considering the impact of Covid in the USA. In September we had a Zoom call with N.T. Wright about responding to Covid – theologically and practically. This was a stand-out event of 2021. In November, Valerie hosted a Ladies (Pastors) event in Miami, which built superb connections. They loved it.

The Pringles were in the US for nearly 3 months starting in December of 2021. They visited a number of C3 Churches and this was welcomed and greatly appreciated. We anticipate growth and health in 2022.

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT South Asia

South Asia is a vibrant hub of life for well over a billion people with 50% under the age of 25. With religions of all shapes and sizes the Gospel stands as a beacon of light and hope in darkness. C3 has churches in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with additional works on the border of Bhutan as well. From world class cities to villages C3 has churches across the spectrum. During COVID, many of our churches were engaged in grass roots serving of the poor, many of whom are in our churches.

8

Our churches set up feeding stations on highways as the mass migration back to hometowns occurred. They were also serving food to COVID patients in hospitals, because relatives were too frightened to feed their own families. Due to many people being entirely dependant on working to survive in the cash economy, community feeding programs were set up to feed people who otherwise had no access to food. This work was generously made possible by C3 Church Global and C3 communities around the world. Alongside this good work, the Gospel was proclaimed and people came to Christ.

Regional Directors – Richard & Sue Botta

Throughout 2021, the South Asia Regional Office facilitated weekly Pastors training in discipleship, leadership, connect group leading, all of which worked towards strengthening the churches in their mission. The churches met online and onsite (when allowed), many under persecution. The churches and pastors are strong, yet hard pressed, proclaiming the good news, growing, and worshipping God with all they are and have!

Annual Report // 2021

There’s nothing like hundreds of voices of prayer gathered together – the atmosphere is electric. You can feel it, even over Zoom. In 2020 we hosted our first Global Day of Prayer, and this was an event we decided to continue into 2021. Over 1,000 of us gathered in February and November of 2021, at both 7am and 7pm Sydney time on each day, to spend an hour in prayer as a global family. Pastors and leaders, familiar faces and new friends, prayed in their own languages as we sought God together. What a time of global connection!

Xpress made a fleeting return in 2021! Due to the challenges of COVID, we couldn’t run Xpress at all in 2020, so we lined up June for Xpress in Sydney, Australia, and July for Xpress in the Philippines. AUSTRALIA Pastors and leaders from across C3 Australia immersed themselves in the Xpress experience for 3 out of the 4 planned days… because a Sydney-wide lockdown interrupted the fun. But despite the change of plans, it was a powerful time. Morning workouts were held by the legendary Sandhill Warrior. Some say they can still feel the burn… Day sessions with Mark & Bernie Kelsey, Steve Warren, Filmore Bouldes, (and many others) challenged hearts and minds to grow deeper in Christ. Overall, 7 of the 8 Australian states and territories were represented.

PHILIPPINES Amidst the incredible challenges posed by COVID restrictions in the Philippines, pastors and leaders from across the country gathered in July for 4 days of Xpress. Incredible insight on matters of the mind, body and spirit came from international guests on Zoom: Mark & Bernie Kelsey, Jake Betlem, Eric & Christine Harrison, and more. Congrats to all the graduates of Xpress 2021!

Here is what C3 Metro Manila had to say: “We just finished the James Series last Sunday. We are thankful for the 5-week all-inclusive package of the series. We were able to use all of it - the intro, full messages and the social promos. All relatable and timely! It blessed our church very much.” - Mae Flores We hope to continue initiating projects like this in the future.

As we entered our second year of online services, we wanted to create some useful content for churches around the world. Enter: our James series! The heart behind this preaching series was to take some of the weight off service and content teams for 5 weeks with premade, ready-to-roll videos. The package came with a series intro from Ps Phil, full messages, and social promo graphics to help you spread the word. So many of our churches used this series. We are so glad you found it helpful!

2021 was our second year of the C3 Church Global Podcast with Phil Pringle – and we brought in some changes! Thanks to the feedback of a few superfans (you know who you are) we were able to build upon the work we put into the Podcast in 2020, and make it even better in 2021. We introduced a weekly pattern alternating between Devotionals (short, 15-min dissections of scripture with a distinct faith element) and Conversations (relaxed, informal chats on all topics church and leadership).

REGIONAL GATHERING DESIGN TEMPLATE As we do every year, the Global Office in 2021 provided a Design Template for Regional Gatherings. This included screens, socials, and song recommendations to assist Regional Offices with using the “We Are C3” theme across the world.
