A Year in the Preparation of a Turnaround – Intensive and Practical Road Map for an Effective Turnaround

A Day in the Execution of a Turnaround – The A to Z Daily Plan for Critical Turnaround Deliverables

This hands-on workshop will go in-depth into the milestones and key stages of pre-turnaround planning.

Key steps, process, deliverables, documents, schedule, cost estimate of TAR for new/intermediate employees.

• Steering Team Setup and Interaction—Establishing the turnaround goals and objectives, the core project team, steering committee and key stakeholders

• Ensuring all stakeholders have approved the execution plan before the unit is shut down

• Charter Development—Initiating the project and expected milestones with proven templates, checklists and a realistic critical path

• Reviewing the details of the daily execution schedule

• Scoping—Defining the work scope, duration and cost triangle to design your critical path • Estimating—Using historical records, quotes, and other tools to fine tune estimates for funding • Planning—Adequately planning for internal and external workforce requirements • Contracting—Agreeing to an executing a process of selecting contractors, determining rates and work schedules

• What essential steps are necessary for schedule control during the execution phase?

• Ensuring all plans and objectives are discussed at critical meetings: Kick off, morning update, safety meeting, schedule update meeting • Exploring Critical Path Management • Managing emergent and unforeseen obstacles • Balancing discovery work with the turnaround duration

• Scheduling—Developing a baseline execution schedule then fine tuning to optimize duration/cost • Material Management—Agreeing to and executing a process for ordering, receiving, kitting, and issuing material throughout the event • Logistics Detailing—Finalizing needs for logistics support items such as temp power, office space, and break tents • Lessons Learned—Using a robust Lessons Learned program and reviewing feedback regularly to optimize performance
