In the last decade, several notable and accomplished women held the head position at the PTO and such a woman holds this position today. At one point in the last two decades, the chief IP counsel at each of the well know tech companies was a woman. Women continue to hold top IP positions in myriad industries, including tech, life sciences, finance, entertainment, telecommunications, defense, and consumer goods. Yes – women have come a long way in intellectual property.
Women have conquered historical barriers to entry and advancement in the world of IP. They have persevered and excelled in their roles as inventor and protector of the invention’s IP rights.
However, despite these achievements, women continue to face unique challenges in a male-dominated discipline. They still often experience gender-based discrimination and biases that can limit their career advancement opportunities and access to both mentorship and sponsorship.
This event — just as its last two iterations — is dedicated to changing this. We will highlight the accomplishments and contributions of women in the field of IP, and provide a forum for networking, discussion, and building long-lasting connections.
As we celebrate the achievements of women in IP, it's important to recognize that there is still more work to do to create a more equitable and inclusive playing field. By continuing to support and empower women in the intellectual property field, we can create more diverse and innovative workplaces that will all benefit from Women Leaders in IP law.
Law firm attorneys whose practice areas focus on Intellectual Property Law, including:
Patents Trademarks Copyrights
This is a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded women who are passionate about intellectual property, and to gain valuable insights from IP leaders. We hope you will join us for this inspiring event.
Women attorneys and executives have made significant contributions to the field of intellectual property over the years. This is the Summit that celebrates those accomplishments and sets the course for future achievements.
