Recently Bank of America employee volunteers joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville to build homes and improve lives in the Lochlyn Hill neighborhood. The build came as part of the fifth Global Build, a week-long event that engaged Bank of America employees to help Habitat for Humanity build affordable homes and revitalize communities across the globe. This year, Bank of America and Habitat worked in 90 communities across six countries, helping homeowners and families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. In Charlottesville, these activities included new construction exterior work building eight homes. MichieHamlett teams up with Virginia Blood Services to host a Fall Blood Drive on Friday, October 26, 2018 MichieHamlett is pleased to announce that it will host a Fall Blood Drive with Virginia Blood Services on Friday, October 26 from 11 a.m.– 3 p.m. in the Bloodmobile at 500 Court Square, Charlottesville, Virginia (across the street from the Albemarle County Courthouse). According to a spokesperson for Virginia Blood Services, patients in Virginia require timely blood transfusions every day. The majority of this blood comes from blood drives organized by community partners. While all blood types are helpful, the most needed are O Negative, O Positive, A Negative, and B Negative. Eligible donors must be 16 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, feel in good health, and present one form of ID. “We are very happy to support Virginia Blood Services in its efforts to increase blood donations in our community,” says Greg Webb, MichieHamlett Attorney. “As a host of the Fall Blood Drive, our goal is to raise awareness of the critical need for blood donations in Virginia, and make it easy and convenient for anyone who wants to donate blood to do so.” Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment for the Fall Blood Drive by calling the MichieHamlett law firm at (434) 951-7200, or registering online at https://donateblood. vablood.org. Walk-ins are always welcome.
