What’s Happening Around Town? Bras for a Cause
Each year in Charlottesville, a collection of men hit the runway for a very important cause, strutting their stuff wearing garments you don’t usually see on men. Bras For A Cause is for a breast cancer funding- and-awareness-raising event hosted by the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors in Central Virginia. Brave male volunteers wearing uniquely designed bras model them to music of their choice and vie for “bra bucks” purchased by the audience. Of course, the more the models delight and amuse the audience, the more “bra bucks” they receive. A portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to the Flourish Positive Image Boutique. The Flourish Boutique is a one-ofa-kind in Central Virginia, designed to help those facing cancer to look and feel their best. Far beyond a fashionable boutique, Flourish plays an essential role in the healing journey. From their beautiful décor to an array of specialty products, their mission is clear: help patients feel more vibrant, confident and better able to face the challenges of cancer. Flourish is conveniently located on the main floor of the UVA Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center and is supported by the UVA Hospital Auxiliary. Donations provide additional resources for cancer patients. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women after skin cancer. Statistics show that every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer and that over 40,000 women will die from it in 2014. Statistics ALSO show that there are nearly 3 million breast cancer survivors in the US. Raising funds for research and raising awareness amongst women everywhere can make a huge impact on breast cancer related deaths. The Women’s Council of Realtors was established in 1938 and has a national membership of 12,000 women with over 300 Chapters. The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) was established in 2009 and has steadily grown from a small core of REALTORS® to a membership of 36 including 3 national affiliates. It is a local network of successful
REALTORS®, advancing women as professionals and leaders in business, the industry and the communities they serve. It is their goal to effect positive change in their profession and in the broader community. Bras For A Cause is their biggest fund-raising event of the year and supports this most important cause. The local businesses and the local media involved play a critical role in making it happen.

Halloween Light Show at Lake Monticello
On Friday, October 24th at 8pm in Old Cabell Hall, the UVA Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of trumpeter John D’earth, will present, A CALL FOR ALL DEMONS – New and Classic Dimensions of Large Ensemble Jazz. Joining the band will be stratospheric trumpet sensation Rob Quallich. The modern big band, which developed from the big bands of the thirties and forties when the popularity of jazz was at its height, can speak in a variety of voices and styles. And there can be radically different approaches to how music is produced by a large jazz ensemble. To ensure the maximum impact a brass-proud big band can provide, D’earth and the Ensemble have invited guest lead-trumpet player extraordinaire Rob Quallich to join in calling forth the many voices in which the modern jazz ensemble can speak. Quallich is a twenty eight year old powerhouse with a stratospheric range, endless endurance, and an ability to swing with great accuracy at the top of a roaring, full-throated big band. He played lead trumpet all last year for the Glenn Miller Orchestra and has led brass sections for every type of music from competitive drum and bugle corps to the Temptations, the Richmond Symphony, k.d. lang, the No B.S. Brass Band and many others. Rob’s growing notoriety has led to performances as lead trumpet and soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and at music festivals around the world. “Rob has a voice on trumpet that none of us mere mortals in the band

can provide,” said D’earth. “I have always played third and fourth trumpet for most of my big band work, the solo jazz chairs. A true lead trumpet player with Rob’s kind of authenticity is a rarity. I think our audience and our band will be stunned by the impact he provides.” But the Jazz Ensemble will not only be performing powerhouse numbers that night. They will explore the introspective and reflective side of large ensemble jazz and demonstrate what can happen at a whisper, or through group improvisation, or by playing a collective arrangement of a song written by a person from Saturn: A Call For All Demons composed by the extraterrestrial, Sun Ra. “Jazz is nothing if not diverse,” said featured trumpet soloist and International Relations graduate student Harrison Frye, “so it’s fitting that we base our concert on a tune from somewhere else in the solar system. Besides, Halloween will be right around the corner.” UVA Jazz Ensemble Director John D’earth is clear about his intentions for this particular band. “As musicians we are enjoined by the jazz masters to find our own authentic voices. Our goal is different than simply sounding like an accomplished university jazz ensemble. We want to find our own sound and our own way of doing things based on the personalities of the director and the musicians in the band. In this we emulate Duke Ellington. At the present moment we have a highly creative, versatile, and, in some cases (e.g. lead trombonist and community volunteer Doug Bethel,) virtuosic band that can speak in a variety of musical voices. At UVA most of the jazz ensemble members are concentrating on subjects other than jazz performance. But they are talented, motivated, and accomplished. As a liberal arts institution our goal for our students is “music for life” so we don’t invoke a conservatory atmosphere. We work toward a sustainable, life-long musical path of one’s own. We think of the jazz greats who have said, “tell your story.” Jazz teaches us to contribute to the collective in an individual voice from a unique personal history and from a shared experience. So we want to highlight the many personal solo voices we now have in the band.” The band will present an evening of music that ranges from high energy charts like Thad Jones’ Little Dipper, Dizzy Gillespie’s Woodyn’ You, and Woody Herman’s arrangement of John Coltrane’s Lazy Bird, to quieter moments with music by John Abercrombie (Sidekicks) and by D’earth’s wife,

CAAR Publishes Third Quarter 2014 Home Sales
C
AAR Third Quarter 2014 Market Report shows median sales price of $289,100, which is an 8% increase compared to this time last year, primarily due to positive gains in the detached housing market. This quarter’s report also depicts pending sales up 5.5%, with a dip in number of closed sales compared to 3rd Quarter last year, half of which sold in 48 days or less.
NEWS & VIEWS
Charlottesville Area 3rd Quarterr 2014 Highlights: • Median sales price is up 8% over Q3-2013, driven by positive gains in sales of detached homes. • There were 795 homes sold in the 3rd Quarter in Greater Charlottesville, 55 fewer than the number sold in Q3-2013, a decrease of 6%. • Pending sales in the 3rd Quarter numbered 843, a 5.5% increase over Q3-2013. • Half of the homes sold in the 3rd Quarter were on the market 48 days or less.
Median Sales Price Trending Up
CAAR REAL ESTATE WEEKLY WWW.CAAR.COM
At $289,100, the 3rd Quarter median home sales price in Greater Charlottesville reached the highest
level since Q3-2007. It was 8.0% higher than Q3-2013, representing the sixth consecutive quarter with annual gains. The median sales price was 20.5% above the 3rd Quarter mark in 2012, the year in which prices were the lowest in the region, and was only $800 below the record high for the third quarter ($289,900 in Q3-2007). Growth in the detached segment’s proportion of homes (sold from 72.6% in Q3-2013 to 79.2% in Q3-2014), coupled with a 7.5% increase in the median sales price for this segment, were key factors in the overall 8.0% year-over-year increase from last year. The attached segment, which had 29.2% fewer sales than Q32012, had a 6.6 decrease in median sales price.
Sales Activity Shifting Home Choice There were 795 homes sold in the 3rd Quarter in Greater Charlottesville, 55 fewer than the number sold in Q32013. The year-over-year sales decrease was driven by a slowdown in the attached home segment. The 165 attached homes sold were 29.2% fewer than the 233 sold in Q3-2013. Attached homes also accounted for 20.8% of all homes sold in the quarter, down from a 27.4% share in the same quarter last year. The 630 detached homes sold actually represented a 2.1% increase (+13
sales) over Q3-2013. This shift in the home type purchase contributed to an 11.3% bump in the average sales price for the region. This in turn resulted in a 4.1% increase in total sold dollar volume compared to Q3-2013.
Inventory of Homes for Sale Pending Sales on the Increase While closed sales were down slightly across the total market, the 843 new pending sales represented a 5.5% increase over Q3-2013. Notably, there were 18.9% more new pending sales in September than the same month last year. Louisa and Greene both recorded 20% more new pending sales in this quarter over last year. Albemarle (+11.4%) also posted significant increase in purchase activity. New pending sales were flat in Fluvanna and the city of Charlottesville. Nelson was the outlier in terms of purchase activity, with 23.2% fewer new pending sales than last year.
Days on Market (DOM) and Pricing The median DOM for Greater Charlottesville in the 3rd Quarter was 48 days, meaning half the homes sold in the quarter were on the market seven weeks or less. This is two days longer than Q3-2013 and the second time that the 3rd Quarter median DOM was lower than 50 days since 2007. The average DOM for homes sold in the 3rd Quarter was 101 days, four days better than the Q3-2013 mark (105 days). The average percent of original list price sellers received at sale was higher in the 3rd Quarter than Q3-2013,
with the average sales to original list price ticking up slightly from 94.2% to 94.7%, the highest 3rd Quarter level since 2007. The sale to original list ratio was strongest in Albemarle (95.9%) and Charlottesville (94.9%). For the first time since Q2-2010, Nelson County sales to original list price topped 90%, at 90.2%. “Although we have had fewer units sold this quarter, our median price has increased 8% since this time last year to $289,100, a number we have not seen since 2007. The market for detached single family homes has remained strong while we are seeing a slowdown in attached home sales compared to Q3-2013. Days on the market are still low in most segments indicating an active market and pending sales are up compared to last year’s numbers. Bottom line, our market is responding to continuing forces of supply and demand in each market segment,” says CAAR 2014 President John Ince.

Every year, don’t you say to yourself THIS is the year I’m going to get out and enjoy the incomparable beauty that is autumn in Virginia? And well you should. After all, who better than you deserves an enjoyable scenic drive through the foliage, the opportunity to splurge on local food and beverage, and a chance to reconnect with your family. Here are a few suggestions to get you started. Because many of these locations are seasonal, be sure to check their websites to make sure they’re still open on the weekend you intend to visit.

FALL
If you’re looking for photogenic foliage, then “ride the sky” along Skyline Drive—a National Scenic Byway that runs 105 miles along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Over two million people visit the Skyline Drive each year. Since fall is the most popular time to travel, expect quite a bit of company on the highway. If you’re in a hurry, the Skyline Drive is not for you as the speed limit is only 35mph and is strictly enforced. Expect a non-stop drive to last at least three hours on a clear day. Traveling from one of the four entrances to the next exit takes about an hour, so plan on doing as many as your schedule allows. If you plan on taking photos or just want to get out and stretch your legs, there are 75 overlooks on to the Blue Ridge where you can take in the beauty

of colorful forests, farmlands and orchards on either side. Here’s a suggested 48-hour getaway! Day One: Travel into Shenandoah Valley arriving at world famous Luray Caverns, a US Natural Landmark noted for the profuse variety of formation and unsurpassed natural color. Experience the history of America in the Car & Carriage Caravan Museum with over 140 original items dating from 1725. Children of all ages will have fun winding their way through the Garden Maze and visiting the rescue animals at the Luray Zoo. Day Two: Take in the fall colors on a one-hour guided horseback ride departing from the Skyland Resort Stables or join a park ranger for a guided hike or interpretative program.
Travel the Blue Ridge Parkway The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway begins at Rockfish Gap and follows a similar path as Skyline Drive along ridge tops. The Parkway was conceived and designed as a scenic motor road and conservator of the natural and historical treasures of the Blue Ridge. Today, it is the most visited site in the National Park system. Known as “America’s Favorite Drive” the Blue Ridge Parkway winds through 29 counties and 469 miles of mountain meadows with endless vistas of mountains and valleys. The Blue Ridge Parkway is very much a “drive awhile and stop awhile” experience. The Parkway was designed for leisurely motoring, so speed limits
Day Two: After breakfast, drive I-64 east and pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway at Exit 99. Drive south, stopping where you wish for scenic overlooks and quick woodland hikes. Near Milepost 27 exit the Parkway and drive east on Rt. 56 to Crabtree Falls, the highest vertical-drop cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. This is one of Virginia’s most beautiful places and features a series of five major cascades and a number of smaller ones that fall a total distance of 1,200 feet. Resume your drive eastward on Rt. 26 and northward on Rt. 151 to Wintergreen for lunch and then return to Staunton. You can unwind for a bit or visit the Frontier Culture Museum where you can see Europe and America’s past at

do not exceed 45mph. At the entrance to each of the recreational areas along the Parkway, you will find a large sign bearing the Parkway emblem. These areas have visitor centers, campgrounds, picnic areas, trails and, in many instances, concessionaire-operated lodges, restaurants, and other facilities. Unless otherwise posted, parking is permitted along road shoulders. Short trails offer the chance to get away from the road and see the Blue Ridge without the hindrance of an automobile window. This can be very rewarding, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Longer trails are also available for the more adventurous. Interpretive signs carrying the squirrel gun and powder horn symbol are at many overlooks and historic sites along the parkway, as are numbered mileposts. The zero milepost marker is at Rockfish Gap, immediately south of Shenandoah National Park, and each mile is numbered progressively southward on the Parkway. Rangers and volunteers present a variety of interpretive programs through October. These are given on weekends and occasionally on weekdays. Activities include campfire talks, music and history demonstrations, nature walks and slide presentations. Schedules are posted at visitor centers, campground entrances and Parkway concessions. Virginia is the only state through which both national bicycle routes, U.S. 1 and U.S. 76, pass. There are 838 miles of the two routes in Virginia, making it one of the favorite destinations of bicyclists. Here’s another suggested 48-hour getaway!

Fall Family Getaways From parks to education, from mountains to main streets, your children will experience an autumn escape they’ll not soon forget. Got two days? Here’s a suggestion. Day One: Stay at Massanutten Resort, a four-season mountain resort where you can enjoy, golf, an Indoor WaterPark, luxurious spa, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, and numerous other recreational opportunities. Take the day and explore the streets of Waynesboro that now cover the grounds of the Battle of Waynesborough Civil War trail sites. A highlight is the Plumb House Museum that was between the battle lines and is now home to many Civil War artifacts. As an option, you can always enjoy the many local hiking trails in this neck of the woods. Day Two: Enjoy golf or horseback riding at Massanutten as you plan your excursion to nearby Harrisonburg. The endless trails in and around Harrisonburg provide breathtaking views, allowing you to soak in the fall foliage. Visit the Harrisonburg Downtown Farmers Market; have a picnic at the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at James Madison University; or through November 7th take the family to Back Home on the Farm, featuring family adventures on the farm with corn maze in the fall, animal exhibits, 60 ft. slide, cow train and more Take a leisurely stroll down Main Street for shopping, museum visiting, and gallery hopping amidst the crisp autumn air. On your way out of town, make a stop at Showalter’s Orchard & Greenhouse where you can pick from over 20 varieties of apples to take home with you, grab a few other local gifts at the gift shop and then sneak into the Old Hill Cider tasting room, where you can taste freshly pressed sweet cider. Oh, and if you’re football fans, score a few tickets to see the James Madison University Dukes play at the Bridgeforth Stadium. If you’re more into the arts, enjoy a live performance at the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts.
Wine and Dine Your Way Through Shenandoah County Ideal for couples looking to spend a romantic weekend, Shenandoah
County is home to breathtaking scenery, a vast array of outdoor recreation, rich history, unique shopping, diverse restaurants, and fabulous vineyards. The fall is the optimum time to visit Virginia’s vineyards. Wine lovers will enjoy following Virginia’s numerous wine trails through quaint small towns and the picturesque countryside. Each trail has a unique theme, from history to music to regional interests, complete with wineries, local restaurants and overnight accommodations. Many wine and harvest celebrations take place this time of year throughout the state. Some of them include The Fall Harvest and Leaf Peep Festival at DuCard Vineyards on Saturday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Harvest Wine Dinner at DeFosse Vineyards and Winery in Faber is on November 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Celebrate the fall harvest at an elegantly prepared six-course dinner paired with six generous samplings of award winning wines. Cardinal Point Vineyard & Winery in Afton hosts its annual Oyster Roast on November 15-16 from noon to 5:00 p.m. The Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival at Poplar Forest in Forest will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year’s festival will feature 15+ Virginia wineries, and Bill Barker will portray his alter ego, Thomas Jefferson. Enjoy a little history with your wine! You can pack a lot into 48 hours in Shenandoah County. Day One: Take a pleasant drive down the historical Old Valley Pike to Shenandoah Vineyards, located just outside of Edinburg. Housed in a red barn dating to the Civil War, the winery sits atop an old stone foundation that serves as the aging cellar. An upper story deck adjoining the barn offers a sweeping view of the mountains. Day Two: Begin venturing down the county to a remote getaway where you can experience 58 acres of beautiful rolling land, covered with grapevines as they begin their annual bud break. You’re at The Winery at Kindred Pointe, located in Mount Jackson, with its tasting room in a converted modern horse barn that gives visitors a quaint experience you can’t receive anywhere else. hether you are building your dream house or remodeling an existing bathroom, here are some tips on how to be ecologically smart and have a smart-looking result as well. Since bathrooms can be one of the most expensive rooms to renovate, being up to date can have a real impact on a home’s resale value. These days, people are generally looking for double sinks, walk-in showers, and plenty of storage space.
OCTOBER 16 - OCTOBER 22, 2014 ISSUE 23-42

Be Water Smart The American Water Works Association points out that nearly one-third of an average home’s indoor water usage is from flushing standard toilets. Eco-savvy consumers are learning that while older models use up to six gallons per flush (gpf), newer low-flow models, at 1.6 gpf, cut this by more than half and HET fixtures (High Efficiency Toilet) the use even less at 1.3 gpf. A number of models are dual-flush meaning they have two levels of water consumption one for solid waste and one for liquid waste only. Niagara Stealth has a patented dual-flush system with hydraulic technology for an ultra-high-efficiency (UHET) toilet using just .8 gpf. A WaterSense label on a toilet shows it has been independently certified for efficiency for the Environmental Protection Agency and consumes less than 1.28 gpf. This can make a real impact on water consumption. WaterSense labeled models come in a variety of
Eco-Savvy Bathrooms Add Luxury and Value to a Home BY MARILYN PRIBUS
styles, frequently including the dual-flush feature. Many local water suppliers will reimburse homeowners who replace old toilets with more efficient fixtures. For example, both the City of Charlottesville and the Albemarle County Service Authority offer rebates of up to $100 each toward the purchase of low-flow toilets. Other area water agencies have varied programs, so check with your provider. Low-flow showerheads offer additional savings. While standard shower-
heads use as much as 5.5 gallons per minutes (gpm), newer ones have flow rates of 2.5 gpm or less, yet are designed to feel forceful. For existing fixtures, aerators—basically screw-on faucet tips— restrict flow rates while still making the flow reasonably strong. Aerators are inexpensive, easy to install, and can be an extremely effective water conservation step. Converting existing light bulbs to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs can make an immediate impact on power consumption. Today’s CFL bulbs are significantly better than the first ones on the market and come in a variety of shapes. They have also become available in different shades from warm white to cool white to daylight. A CFL’s color can make a difference in a room’s “mood” from energetic to peaceful.
The Finishing Touches Be sure to include as much storage as possible. For example, stylish pegs can substitute for towel bars that take
up wall space. Narrow shelves can be hung behind the door. Shelving or shallow cabinets can be installed above the toilet or on other walls and attractive narrow shelves can frame a window. In a small room like a bathroom, color makes a definite impact. Paint, coordinated with tile and countertops, can make a real statement from relaxing pastels to vibrant primary-colored stripes. Lighter colors make rooms seem larger while darker colors can lend intimacy or coziness. Always check for a mildew-resistant label on any paint for a bathroom. If you are repainting, wash the walls thoroughly with a solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water even if you can’t see any mildew. Rinse thoroughly with plain water, then let the walls dry completely. After applying fresh mildew-resistant paint, be sure to wait 24-36 hours to let the paint cure (even if the can says it’s dry in six hours) before introducing moisture by using the shower or bathtub. Finally, treat the bathroom to some plump new towels and slip-proof throw rugs in great colors, up-to-the-minute light fixtures, and at least one living plant in an eye-catching container. n A window in one bathroom and a skylight in another bring enough brightness to include several pretty coleus plants in the bathroom décor of Marilyn Pribus.
LIVING GREEN
A first step might be visiting model homes in the area or prowling the Internet for ideas and photos. Settle on the permanent features first, such as tile and countertops, so you can coordinate later components such as wall coverings and the general color scheme. This would also be a good time to ensure good ventilation through a wall or ceiling fan. Ceramic or glass tile comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Both can be found with recycled content and both are durable. Natural stone, in tiles or as small pieces of tumbled stone is both durable and distinctive. Sinks and tubs come in designs from classic to dramatic. If existing fixtures are in good shape but just the wrong hue, consider refinishing in almost any color you like. Although there are doit-yourself kits available, a professional will have the materials and tools for reliable results. Refinishing a tub might run about $500, but you save time shopping as well as saving on delivery and installation costs.

5 Tips for
HAUNTING Your House this Halloween (StatePoint) Halloween trails only behind Christmas when it comes to spending on decorations. Americans spent an estimated $6.9 billion on Halloween in 2013, according to the National Retail Federation. You can make more of your Halloween spending with a few spooky tips. Larry Kirchner, operator of the world’s number-one rated haunted house, “The Darkness” in St. Louis, Missouri and owner of Hauntworld.com – a

Give your home’s façade the abandoned, dusty look by spinning cobwebs and creepifying doors and windows. Hang aged and shredded curtains and add lights to each window. Change outdoor lights with flicker bulbs. Add spooky sounds for atmosphere. Lastly, you can purchase affordable computer graphic effects from HauntedHouseSupplies.com and with a TV pressed into your window, add anything from ghosts to werewolves to ghouls to your haunt. Let the leaves collect for a few weeks in your yard. Add a gothic fence and a few zombies popping up through the ground. Add jute material or aged cheesecloth to your fence. Adding dead bodies under trees or creepy birds helps set the scene. Make gravestones by using a hot knife to carve foam into shapes, and even add an epitaph. To give the tombstone a real stone look, coat in plaster or lightweight concrete. Two simple doll rods driven into the ground can hold the tombstone in place. For a coffin, nail together 1x6 and 2x2 pine boards. For the extra effect, add mulch in front of the tombstones or use paving bricks in the shape of a grave filled with mulch.

Start by sketching a design. You can build simple walls from plywood or drywall. For the old rotting look, cut odd shapes into the walls and screw in thin slats of wood behind the cut out holes. For best results, cake on plaster between the slats, then use raised wallpaper for the rest. Paint the entire wall one color and add some watered down black paint for an aged look.
Eerie Effects
Spooky sounds, special effects and lighting make all the difference. Play a spooky soundtrack from a movie or find music online. Buy a couple of cheap skeleton speakers, available online for as low as $10. For home haunters on a budget, air cannons or any loud noise are great for scares. Create special effects with fog machines and air compressors. Finally, dress up in your spookiest costume and make your guests scream for candy! To prepare for next year, stock up on deeply discounted props the day after Halloween. For more inspiration on Halloween or haunted houses, visit www.Hauntworld.com. This year, go beyond the basics and give your neighborhood a real scare! n

singer/songwriter Dawn Thompson. Ms. Thompson’s song Willowland will be performed as a vehicle for the solo voices within the band but without the original song she sang so many times. D’earth and Thompson have collaborated since the seventies in the groups Cosmology and the Thompson D’earth Band. “Dawn has been working with an illness that has prevented her from performing for several years,” said D’earth. “This is one of her first songs and I love that we are using the outlines of the tune but not the song itself. It leaves lots of space for improvisation. The soloists provide their own song. It is very meditative and a beautiful setting for sensitive soloists in our band like trumpeter Lauralee Yeary, alto saxophonist Matthew Smith, and pianist Peter Hodskins. On an open groove like this there is more room for soloists to explore their ideas and play more reflectively. We want to show all sides of our sound: the tightest ensemble playing, the most classic big band
sounds, the most free improvisation, and the many new ways that a big band can offer expressive possibilities to the musicians who make each band what it is. In this concert we want to hear all of the voices we can speak with, demonic and otherwise!” Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for students and free for UVa Students who reserve in advance. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Arts Box Office at 434.924.3376 or visiting www.artsboxoffice.virginia.edu Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA’s historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. (map) Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall. For more information please call the McIntire Department of Music at 434.924.3052. n
