RAISING THE BAR FOR THE BRAHMAN BREED
At Kallion Farms we began our carcass focused Brahman breeding program in 1996. We knew the conventional way of determining the best animals for genetic improvement would be a slow process. Deciding to take major steps to accelerate our program we DNA tested over 3000 head of Brahman cattle from the breed’s most popular bloodlines starting in 2003. From these genetically superior cattle we built the foundation of our herd. As of today we have collected over twenty-five hundred (2500) ultrasound scans for IMF and REA. KALLION FARMS HISTORICAL DATA 2004 STEERS AVERAGED 7.86 LB SHEAR FORCE 2005 AVERAGE IMF 3.01 ON FEMALES, 2.67 ON MALES
