DNV-GL & ABS APPROVED – Fibre Optic Cables QFCI – Fire Resistant, Armoured Marine Grade QFCI provides the perfect fibre optic cable solution for offshore emergency communication links requiring fire resistant cables. QFCI meets the circuit integrity requirements of IEC 60331-25 and is designed to continue operating in a fire for 3 hours @ 750°C ensuring safety systems keep functioning.

The loose tube construction and steel braid armour keeps QFCI flexible for installation on rigs and ships whilst protecting the optical fibre cores. This cable is available in Low Smoke Halogen Free SHF1, SHF2 or a MUD resistant NEK 606 compound in accordance with IEC 60092-359 providing weather, UV & Oil resistance making the cable ideal for both indoor and outdoor use on offshore installations.
AICI – Armoured Marine Grade AICI fibre optic cable is armoured with a flexible steel braid for easy installation in restricted areas on rigs and ships. Designed specifically for use offshore, AICI is tight buffered providing fast and easy termination without splicing. Like the QFCI cable, AICI construction is available in SHF1, SHF2 or a MUD resistant NEK 606 sheath compound in accordance with IEC 60092-359. Its Low Smoke Halogen Free properties and UV & Oil resistance enable AICI to be used both inside and outside reducing the need to change cable types.

DNV-GL APPROVED – Coaxial Cables The range of DNV-GL approved offshore marine grade RG coax cables have been designed with the rugged offshore shipping environments in mind. These marine approved coaxial cables are manufactured to MIL-C-17 specifications and sheathed with an SHF1 or SHF2 low smoke halogen free sheath in accordance with IEC 60092-359. MUD resistant versions to NEK 606 are also available. 50 Ohm & 75 Ohm versions are available from stock to cover many applications including microwave, communication, telephony and video transmission. Where there is risk of mechanical damage, the GSWB armoured types offer protection in harsh environments. Connectors and tools are also stocked to provide a complete solution.

DNV-GL APPROVED – Data Cables The use of LAN or structured wiring is rapidly increasing on ships and offshore installations due to the ever increasing demand for live data, information and entertainment. Category 5E provides a robust fast solution and is widely used for data transfer between computer networks and processing equipment, whilst Category 6 is ideally suited for video & media streaming over Ethernet. For very high speed data transmission requirements, Category 7 provides the solution.

The Antennax Range – Cables and Connectors AntennaxTM ultra low loss microwave cables are the ideal choice for interconnection of transceivers, base stations, satellite and telecommunications. Specifically designed to offer high performance across the bandwidth spectrum and sweep tested up to 5.8GHz they offer a real advantage over traditional corrugated cables. The flexible braided design allows Antennax cables to be used throughout the installation, removing the need for jumper cables which are traditionally used to connect corrugated coax cables. With faster termination and reduced risk of kinking, installations can be completed quicker with cost savings on materials and labour. The AntennaxTM LSHF (Low Smoke Halogen Free) versions meet IEC 60332-3-24 flame retardance requirements and are widely used in the offshore industry for airborne broadband, satellite TV and point to point communications, even supporting 4G. Antennax connectors are designed to offer the best connection possible with easy termination. Featuring a hexagonal locking head and a gold-plated, solderless centre pin, designed to clamp around the conductor without the need to solder or crimp. Additionally, the need to trim the braid has also been eliminated. These connectors are a real time saver when installing on site, providing you with a faster, high performance solution.
Engineered Solutions Many projects need something special or unusual, when you need more than an off the shelf cable, 6KRDO ([SRUW’s custom manufacture service provides the answer. By discussing your application and understanding your needs the technical team can offer bespoke cables to suit your installation. This can be as basic as a special colour code or jacket colour right through to cables containing mixed core sizes or a coax element, with various levels of screening or armouring. Cables can also be supplied for extreme temperature applications, chemically contaminated areas or with fire resistant properties for critical circuit wiring. Solutions can be achieved by re-manufacturing existing products to add additional protection or components providing a very fast resolution to a problem or starting with a clean page to create a cable unique to your needs.
