The Burj Khalifa-world’s tallest building, situated in 1 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard of Dubai in United Arab Emirates, has set the record for being tallest skyscraper. It was designed by leading architectural firm Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM). The construction has started from 6 January 2004 and ended in 1 October 2009. The opening of Burj Khalifa has taken place in 4 January 2010. Whole project was the part of new development called Downtown Dubai. The skyscraper was named after president of UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The design of Burj Khalifa was inspired by the patterning system of Islamic culture. Amongst the building, Y- shaped is dedicated to hotel and residential apartments.
