It is owned by Husein Haji and developmental contract has given to Dubai Contracting Company. The structural design has given by leading British architectural firm- Atkins. Chelsea Tower has started building in 2002 and completed in 2005. In the same year it was opened for its specified functionalities.
Chelsea Tower is a 250 m high multi-functional skyscraper which accommodates 51 storeys. Despite being the multi-functional building, the major part of this building is dedicated to hotel and residential apartments. Owing to the fact that majority of the skyscraper has taken by residential apartments it has the prestige of being the tallest residential building in the world. The prime material used for construction was concrete. Chelsea Tower has designed in such a way that it completely stands out amongst the surrounding. It was its cladding and lightning which gives it a distinctive view. Overall it designed as a white diagonal spine going from ground to pinnacle with a wing extends from both the side and joined in topmost pinnacle where a 40 m needle is suspended.
