Construction Director 視覺化BIM管理程式: Construction Director 本研究為開發一視覺化BIM管理系統,並實際導入統包公司-中鼎工程公司之案例研究。本研究歷經 五年,在第一年時研究團隊與中鼎公司透過訪談及討論會議,制定了BIM管理系統的架構及功能。第 二年將此BIM系統之相關功能(包含4D)開發完成。為確保BIM系統的使用性,在第三年進行了使用 性測試進行系統功能及導入之驗證。透過實際的導入及訪談,在第四年提出導入BIM之整合流程。此 系統已在第五年時被公司正式採用,在統包專案中實際使用。 本研究除了整理出每年的經驗提供業界導入參考外,從過程中也發現,在系統開發上,業界參與人 員及學界開發人員對使用者需求的了解十分重要,其成功的關鍵因素是雙方所營造出的一個互信環 境。這個研究不僅可以提供給有在開發客製化系統的大型公司參考,對於小型專案開發者也很有幫 助。本研究所整理出來的開發經驗,亦可提供學界及業界在開發時能減少整體投資風險、簡化開發 流程,並確保能成功的導入新的解決方案。

Construction Director: Lessons learnt from customization of a BIM tool for a design-build company

This research summarizes the five-year development project of Construction Director, a BIM (Building Information Modeling) tool. This tool was developed specifically to meet the requirements of CTCI, a large design-build company focusing on plant construction. During the first year, the development team from National Taiwan University (NTU) completed the architectural design of the system after conducting intensive interviews and meetings with key CTCI stakeholders. The NTU team then implemented the BIM tool for 4D simulation in the second year. During the following year, the NTU team tested and modified the system to overcome any usability problems. In the fourth year, the NTU team worked closely with CTCI and created a process to integrate the BIM tool into the company workflow. The system was then officially deployed on a design-build project in the final year. This research summarizes the Lessons Learnt during each year of the project, and concludes that a trusting environment was the key contributing factor to the success of the project. It is also discovered that the success of the project required both the participation of the design-build company as well as a good understanding of the users' needs by the project developers. This research is not expected to only be beneficial for large companies who are planning to develop their own customized solutions, but it is also meant to be useful for software developers who are involved in similar projects. The experiences may help reduce overall investment risks, simplify the development process and guarantee the eventual success of introducing a new solution to a company.
