 We took part at T-workshop course, what was organized by National Taiwan University. The course lasted for three days. The course subject was about elderly nutrition. The course purpose is create new innovations for future health care.  The course took part of wide range of students. There were nursing students, medical students and few older adult student. The students were not familiar with each other so course started with ice breakers "games". There was relaxed atmosphere.  The surprise was that the course was organized in Chinese. But they invented solution how we can also be part in that course and understand what`s going on - medical student spoke perfect english and he translate to us what teacher spoke.

 We discussed about observating of the elderly nutrition and how to interview them. The teacher was really motivating ! She encouraged the students to create discussion.  We were divided into small groups. Each group had one older student (older 50 year old). We were tasked to interview her eating habits and what kind of childhood memories she have about that and what she misses. We tried to find solution how to make her feel satisfied in todays eating habits. After that we focuced more todays eating habits and the problems what those habits brings. We also wondered how we can improve the nutrition for the elderly.  We were tasked to find out biggest problem about nutrition in Finland in these days and try to create some innovation for that. That innovation purpose is to support health and wellbeing in future. We will design that innovation more at sunday.

Problem  Because obesity is a major health problem and growing in Finland. We tried to think about how obesity might try to be reduced. In Finland people will often take too large amount of food on plate and too often during the day people eat snacks, so we are trying to think about how the size of the food on plate could be reduced.

Invention  We came up with a device that allows the user to easily see how many calories, carbs, protein and fat in persons eating a portion contains.

Designing

Solution The device is a Smartphone app and it works with the camera. The person just take a picture of the plate he/she has taken, and the device is able to interpret the quantity and quality of food. The person receiving the information will be able to better assess whether the food is too much or not.

 On Sunday, we continued the device design what we previous time invented. We also presented it to the class and to professors. Presentation was filmed in entirety and we got the feedback of our invention.
