Join AMDT and become part of an interdisciplinary program crossing borders with fashion, business, communication, art, and science. Apparel Design encompasses all aspects of apparel product development. Courses include illustration, computer-aided design, pattern making, draping, and apparel product construction. This option provides students with a global understanding of the textile and apparel industry. Students create textile and apparel products and have the opportunity to showcase their work at the AMDT Fashion Show that coincides with WSU Mom’s Weekend. Merchandising creates opportunities for students to learn about the apparel industry from initial product concept to consumer purchasing. Courses in merchandising teach students processes involved in the planning, buying, and selling of merchandise in either manufacturing or retail organizations. Students are shown all aspects of this global industry from fiber selection to the final product.

BUILD CONNECTIONS Hands-on learning in the classroom paired with experiential learning and opportunities to build connections outside of the classroom bolster the AMDT experience.
