THE AMS DESIGNATION DEMONSTRATES A HIGHER LEVEL OF COMMITMENT TO YOUR CAREER AND THE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION INDUSTRY. AN AMS DESIGNATION IS RECOMMENDED FOR MANAGERS WHO WANT TO ENHANCE THEIR CAREER OPPORTUNITIES BY INCREASING THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE. –CAI-National
Why would someone with the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) credential, continue to work towards the Association Management Specialist (AMS) credential? Having the AMS sets a manager apart. To earn the AMS one needs to have already earned the CMCA and then further show their dedication to the industry with two years of verified management work. It also shows the dedication to themselves by way of the two, 200 level CAI classes which are required for the AMS. What is more, having to redesignate every three years with additional CAI classwork requires more zeal and diligence. The AMS credential is certainly attainable, so keep moving forward and work towards it with consistency and enthusiasm!
