Monday 2nd October Today’s objectives are to create a magazine cover in photoshop then putting that into a jpeg aswell as notes in word and saving into PDF and combining both in acrobat together. Signed up to ISSUU. Typed in Interior Design, following relevant pages such as interior architecture etc A screen resolution is normally 72pdi/ppi Super photo quality is 1200ppi Magazine quality is 300ppi Newsprint 150ppi Paper Sizes A4 297x210mm A3 297x420mm A2 420x594mm A1 594x841mm To create a blank page on photoshop to the correct size I had to select the tab ‘print’ and then the box at
the top rightfor portrait.
Heres my selected size doc.
i then chose an image from google, looking at Zaha Hadid’s work, and copy and pasted inot photoshop. Making sure I chose a large image, in which I clicked on the tab ‘tools’ under the google search bar and then clicked ‘larger than’ and chose my size. I made sure I chose a larger size so the image didn’t distort when fitting it to my page.
Above are some googled images of the website Vitra we were asked to look into, which is filled with high quality furniture. I sifted through the images, choosing ones I liked and saved them to a small file called ‘photos’ roughly saving as many as I liked. I saved these images to create a magazine cover in which I will upload to my ISSUU account.
open adobe acrobat dc like so
then click the following
add the files by clicking ‘add files’ and then click which ones I need
then click combine and then it should combine all the files ive selected
then save ready to upload to issuu Now log into my ISSUU account and click upload.
This should upload the document to you profile like so
Establishing Professional Practice Week 3 Visiting the Awwwards.com and looking at snippets of websites under the architectural filter. Looking at layouts. Photography, images, text, colour etc.
Here’s another website I found from the Awwwards website which I found really effective, I love the layout and clear quality and the play on imagery and text together.
I also love the bold text, outlining sub headings and creating allocated key areas of the website. Now we will be creating our own website using the site Wix.com
In this screenshot I have created my account on Wix.com and started to create my own website.
Here I have chosen a background, flicking through different ones making sure it doesn’t distract the reader from the main focus of the website.
After learning the main toold and how to move around the site I started on th3e next page of my website called ‘About’. I chose a main focused image to create the centre page and give it a stylish finish along with the text explaining my studies and what ive learnt so far.
My next page is to show off my work so instead I uploaded my collected images from last week and arranged them onto the page.

16th Oct
Is a Vector based package Vector is the opposite of rasta Photoshop and paint uses rasta images Vectors are a series of lines that have points that make up equations.
• This is called our model space
• Escape button is to cancel the line, may have to press twice
• This is the command bar which tells us what we’re clicking on and doing at all times
Here I have used the line tool at the top ledt hand corner, creating liners and shaped at different angles. • Ctrl a is and then press delete to delete the object or line just created.
• Draw a line, give it a start point by clicking anywhere on the page, type in 100 press enter and it will give you a line.
• Here I have created a cube with the line tool using a scale of 1:1 • So on screen we see it as 100mm, everything we measure in, is mm.
• This is how to select a line or object on screen, you basically click the once from the top left and then pull the box over the selected line or object and click again. As shown above.
• This box is created by clicking from, the top right and pulling down over the multiple lines you want highlighted. So if there are only two three lines you want selected without the others you pull this green box over them. • Shortcut for ortho is f8 • Ortho stands for orthographics
• Asked to draw a castle shape so using the skills and techn iques learnt today I’ve started creating a simple orthographic drawing using auto cad.

Ctrl right click for Osnap settings and delect all ad untick the ‘nearest’ box to stop our line tool going to the nearest end point when creating a drawn object, this is so we have the choice as to where our line goes.
• Here I have learnt how to use the trimming tool by drawing 3 lines and drawing a circle over them making sure the lines are hanging outside of the circle. I then pressed the letters TR and selected the trim option and and then pressed enter, I then used the selected the outer linmes to trim them away to create a clean circle.
This print screen shows a more complec design where I have used the trim tool with a number of lines this time rather than just three.
Window Frame units
Towards the end of the lesson we have been asked to create and draw up these images of windows using the tools we have learnt today.
Here I have learnt to use the offset tool. Firstly I created 2 circles of any size that intersect each other. I then trimmed the intersecting lines and then pressed the letter ‘o’ and selected the offset option. I then pressed the circle I wanted to repeat and clicked the green box and moved the cursor inside the circle or outside the circle to repeat the line, as shown above the image shows the repetition of lines this will help me in my later designs in auto cad.

Here is the house I habe designed in Autocad using layers foe each section and detail of the house.
Here is my layers panel, where I can adjust the line weight and the colour of the lines, I can also double click each kayer and label them so I know what each layet is.

Right click on bottom right dark grey bar and select ‘object snap settings’ Select the ‘isometric snap selection, then click the ‘object snap’ tab and select all and make sure the ‘nearest’ selection is off.
ISO CUBE
• •
Press f8 to put the snap tool on, this makes sure all the drawn lines are all parallel. Pressing f5 changes the direction of the lines on auto cad page. This helps us draw the lines in the direction we want them to go.
• •
I then drew the two lines at 1000mm each creating a 30 – 30 degree perspective. Then copy this perspective line drawing and join up the points to create the cube.
Shape 1
Points to remember, f5 to change line perspective and f8 to turn the snap on and off. Creating the base points I’ve learnt to firstly select and copy the shape or lines by typing ‘co’ and selecting copy, then drag the highlighted piece I have just copied and then click the green box base points to place it where I want it.
