Letter from Core Four

Hello, and welcome to CAISA Fashion Show 2023! We are thrilled to have you join us back in-person for our organization’s 25th anniversary. After three years of uncertainty, CAISA Fashion Show is making a long awaited and emotional return to the stage at Centennial Hall for this year’s program, Istoria.

Istoria is derived from the Greek word for “story”, and explores a concept that we are all familiar with – the story of life. We follow a pair of twins as they grow up and encounter challenges in wanting to be different from one another while maintaining their close relationship. Each scene manifests the stages of life – childhood, teenhood, young adulthood, adulthood, and retirement – while drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of the five fashion capitals of the world. As young adults, we continue to find ourselves amidst life’s trials while navigating our personal relationships, and this path of character development is truly a lifelong journey. We hope that this year’s theme will inspire and resonate with your personal growth as we all go through this adventure we call: life.

Undoubtedly, CAISA Fashion Show has continued to evolve – starting as a small production at The Wave 25 years ago, becoming a large-scale spectacle, overcoming the obstacles of the pandemic; the list goes on. However, one thing remains unchanged – our long-standing partnership with Children’s Health Foundation and steadfast dedication to supporting their cause. For our 22nd year in support of Children’s Health Foundation, CAISA Fashion Show is proudly fundraising for Maternal and Infant Lifestyle Health research.

We would like to thank everyone whose support made our return to an in-person show possible. To our amazing sponsors, to our contacts at University Students’ Council, PA Shop, and Centennial Hall, and to our previous team members who continue to inspire us: we are appreciative of your support, guidance, and encouragement.

We would also like to thank the entire CAISA Fashion Show 2023 team. Our executive and model teams have worked tirelessly alongside us to organize tonight’s show and make our creative vision come to fruition. Without their passion and drive, Istoria would have remained a figment of our imagination, and for that, we are eternally grateful for their dedication to our team’s mission: #OneTeamOneDream.
