BEFORE
With the multi-tasking needs of your family being the major component of this brief, I am certain this is the kitchen that can work for you all, in the most practical, safe manner without compromising on style. This layout extends the preparation bench space at the cooking end of the kitchen to the south which also now includes a wide, slender window to allow light across a once dark space. A double sink is conveniently located close to the new induction stovetop, dishwasher and microwave for quick access to water and drainage.
The integrated coffee machine, located on the west wall, inhabits the new breakfast preparation area where a toaster, blender, cutlery and dinnerware can be stored. The oven is located below the cooktop for ease of switching between cooking and baking. An extended breakfast bar gives you much needed seating for quick meals, entertaining whilst cooking or homework supervision but can also double as further preparation space, for example, when baking with the kids. A side-by-side fridge is located at the entrance to the kitchen, alongside the double pantry, for easy access to drinks and snack foods, away from the main cooking zones.
AFTER
With a combination of wall cabinets, high cabinets and base cabinets, there is no shortage of storage or bench space, with a design that will last well into the 2nd or 3rd decade at the very least.
This colour palette combines a mixture of green/ greys offset with both textural whitewashed oak and matt off-white cabinetry. A silky smooth benchtop in Essastone Bone white, highlights and bounces soft light throughout the entire kitchen. The Carrera marble splashback in a hexagonal pattern accentuates a sophisticated style, which is both durable and appeasing. The mixture of tones and textures is continued by using a slightly darker floor tile which creates warmth and depth and envelopes all the cabinetry.
The sleek and elongated stainless steel handles are soft to touch and are made of brushed stainless steel which is repeated across all appliances, creating unity and a sense of commercial cleanliness as these surfaces are highly durable and cleanable.

The Electrolux 600L side-by-side fridge has in integrated water dispenser and plenty of fridge and freezer space for your family.
The Miele integrated coffee machine can express any type of fresh coffee you like but also plain hot water for tea or milk for supper. A new Samsung microwave is convenient for quickly reheating foods and also great for defrosting, steaming or fuss free cooking. The 84L Omega Oven boasts a triple glazed door, programmable cooking timer and child lockable controls, plus 7 oven functions including conventional, grill, fan forced and defrost.
The integrated Fisher and Paykel dishwasher has two drawers so that breakfast dishes can be washed without having to wait until dinner for the washer to be full enough for an efficient cleaning cycle. A sleek Dorf mixer tap completes a beautiful washing display with the AFA double bowl sink and drainer. The 4 burner 80cm Electrolux induction cooktop features touch controls, sensor spill shut off, automatic cookware recognition, child lock, auto warm up and keep warm, timer and extra large cookware detection. Highly cleanable and sleek in black, the induction cooktop is the safest option for families. Lastly, the Omega stainless steel stand alone rangehood features a grease filter sensor reminder and allows you to wash the stainless steel filters in the dishwasher. The internal carbon filters purify and distinguish cooking smells on exit and are replaced easily and regularly.

The feature pendants located above the breakfast bar are made of painted white metal and white oak with a stainless steel fitting. They can be perfectly matched with a warm eddison globe for soft mood lighting. The abstract artwork add a touch of vibrancy to the kitchen which could also be located along with children’s feature drawings. The oak and padded high bar chairs offer a comfortable seating position with back support and protection. On four legs, they are very stable. A small patterned ceramic vase can hold a plant such as a succulent for a point of interest. It can also hold a herb or a collection of them can have a range of herbs. You decide. The geometric container serves as a utensil holder and the shallow platter, as a fruit bowl. The tall oak and marble salt and pepper shakers will become a stylish benchtop staple and will match in well with the large 50x38cm maple chopping board. New items can be added easily within this colour range and can also be changed up in the future. Other optional accessories may include a mortar and pestle, toaster, food processor or blender if used regularly, as well as a wooden or magnetic knife block, spice rack, cookbooks etc. There is plenty of bench space, wall space and open shelving to accommodate future purchases.
