This project is located in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico. This was a semester-long project in collaboration with Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, designer in residence.

Deliverables for this project consisted of floor plans, several renderings, a presentation video, and a magazine layout of final drawings and renderings.

carefully thought out, the floor plans are functional for exactly what the De La Cruz family needs. The main floor is separated by the entrance and private sleeping areas. The second floor has the guest room and all public areas; perfect for entertaining the many guests the De La Cruz’s host.

T

he De La Cruz family loves to travel, and what a better way to showcase that passion anywhere

other than their living room. This space is where they will do most of their entertaining and also spend family time together, so it needed to be comfortable and able to seat a lot of people, yet still feel intimate. Many antiques and nic-nacs from their travels are displayed throughout the space. This living room is an infusion of culture and tasteful, modern living.

OPULENCE in the MASTER SUITE

Oh Blam!, by Mike Weber is a mixed media artwork coated in resin. This piece measures 30W x 30 H.

he master bedroom is a place where Reynaldo and Natalya can go to escape and feel relaxed and soothed. The design of this room was approached with sleep in mind. The space needed to be calming and tranquil. This feeling for Reynaldo and Natalya translated into lots of whites and soft textures. The walls are coated in a warm white hue and the hardwood floors are softened by an alpaca hide rug. Splashes of color are added in artwork, and upholstery to create interest in the space. Comfort and luxury go a long way in this master suite.

Savile Row is a bespoke tailoring shop for men. It was inspired by and named after the historical street, Savile Row, in Mayfair, London. The retail portion of the shop is fairly small, selling mainly shoes, ties, bow ties, cuff links, and tie bars. The main portion is the tailoring area where suits are made-to-order. “Bespoke tailoring” is known to have originated from Savile Row and means “a suit cut and made by hand”.

The design intent was to have a very masculine and gentlemen-like atmosphere. The use of rich woods, textiles inspired by menswear, and leather floor tiles all harmonize together to achieve this concept.
