Fresh Advertising Agency Design VI, Spring 2015 --------------------------------------------------The designer was initially given an existing building, with the responsibility to gut the interior and change the original environment in order to fit the needs of the new client. The client, Fresh Advertising, is an advertising agency with a focus on all things culinary related. They desire a work place with sustainable qualities in order to promote a healthy lifestyle they seek in their employees as well as the food they choose to advertise. A design originally inspired from the inner core of a slice or an orange. When you slice through the center you firstnotice the center core piece that then creates the wedges that all radiate from the center portion. The final design had separated the programs into different “wedges that all go along a common core radiation system. Many of the wedges puncture the existing exterior walls, creating a view of the wedges for the general public.

East Falls Train Station Intertwine Design VI Collaboration Project, Spring 2015 --------------------------------------------------This proposal is for East Falls train station, located at the intersection of Cresson Street and Midvale Avenue. It is designed to address the basic needs of the users through ADA compliant access, outdoor covered waiting area with benches and heat lamps. There will also be indoor eating with bathroom facilities. The new train station will provide commuters with an onsite cafe/bar lounge from which individuals will have an open vantage point to see East Falls. The second floor overpass allows commuters arriving on either side of the tracks to rise up using the stairs or elevator and easily come down to the other side. The stations overpass will be well lit providing users with a stronger sense of safety and security.

Interlace Bookstore Design V, Fall 2014 --------------------------------------------------Lauren Barnholdt is a well known author that appeals to teenage girls. Her books focus on the multiple sides of relationships between a boy and a girl. Interlace Books is meant to display this genre of books. After disecting the plot of Barnholdts books I developed my concept to be the differences between femine and masculine architecture, similarly to the plots of her books, the differences between feminine and masculine thought processes. Feminine architecture is considered to be more flowing and curved, resembling a females form. Where as masculine architecture is more straight, simplistic and striking to the eye. Taking these ideas into consideration I then developed my design, accentuating the differences of curves and straight forms, the way these forms converge with one another, and then continue to separate.

REI Visual Merchandising Design V, PAVE Competition, Fall 2014 ---------------------------------------------------

The shape of a lightning strike is extremely abstract and always changing. Using this shape as inspiration for the REI visual merchandising allowed users to pay attention to the strong, fierce elements throughout the space. The “lightning strikes”that are placed throughout the store in a chaotic, yet organized manner, were designed using repurposed wood on 3 out of 4 of the sides. This material was chosen to bring calmness to this space. Using metal as the material for thebottom of the “lightning strikes” allowed the space to give off the experience of being in a physicallightning storm. An area is dedicated to a “camp site” allowing shoppers to truly visualize what their tents will look like when assembled. This statement will change as certain tents become more popular or styles change. Mountain bikes are displayed on a ramp that travels up a wall, giving the feeling or riding the bike in a glorious hiking location.
